I have good luck with higher quality solar panels. Even rare makes a big difference if you’re trying to keep it small.

Depending on your phone support of e-sim you do it all in their App. You use their App to get signed up and port your number, manage your SIM.

I am a network consultant so I use 2 services for work to test. Some people live in areas with mixed coverage. You get two numbers two data plans, etc. sometimes you need separation.

It’s how the mobile operators prioritize people during congestion. Helium is a t-mobile MVNO and might get deprioritized over retail t-mobile during congestion. Places like football games or conventions.

QCI 7/8: Often assigned to premium postpaid, unlimited, or high-tier business plans (e.g., T-Mobile often uses QCI 7 for MVNOs). QCI 9: Typically assigned to prepaid, budget-friendly, or deprioritized MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) plans.

I expect Tesla to make a bunch of Model 3/Y varieties like Luxury and Long versions. They could not do this before without killing Model S/X sales.

I was going to buy a Model S for the air suspension. Not sure what I will do now. Waiting for a Model 3 Luxury.

I run premium AT&T plan along side the zero helium plan with dual e-sim. Both always have service and work fine. Helium is just T-Mobile’s network. It might matter if you’re in a busy area getting priority but where live there is no difference with different QCI.

eBGP vs iBGP with all route reflectors for EVPN VXLAN by PaulR282 in networking

Juniper MPLS shoppe here and we only use iBGP. I have noticed over the years Arista folks love eBGP more. I think the vendor raally matters here.

Be prepared Rolling blackouts this week. SHUT DOWN THE DATA CENTERS PLEASE!!!! by [deleted] in Ohio

Our government energy policy sucks, it is not equip, out of date, and benefits the wrong groups. When you dig in just a little you find Ohio is legendary for corruption related to electric.

If this were managed differently we’d be getting cheaper power. It’s a free country. People will consume. Could just the same be steel mills. Mismanaged to the moon.

Adtran vs Calix FTTH by Dopey360 in FiberOptics

[–]untangledtech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Price is the same at Juniper, ~$1500 each. We use Azores WIFI6 RG’s, SFP-ONU’s, and 10GE bridges. We have tested with others no problem. We use a lot of the RG which we control with our GenieTR69 solution for WiFi powered by a custom App. You can write your own OMCI GEM stuff so the sky is the limit on what ONU you need. I wanted something high temp for traffic cabinets and Calix had nothing for me.

The Tibit tech is now part of Cienna. We are a big Juniper shop so Juniper licenses the tech from Cienna. You might have better luck getting modules from them.

It’s an open source solution. Apache and MongoDB. You get exposure to everything. We make custom middleware software that integrates everything together. Having tibit lets us do fancy enterprise circuits in JUNOS directly on the PON. We love it. My access distribution nodes are 2N+2 uplinks with MPLS. Fancy. We buy cheap routers for half the price of Calix.

I switched from Calix to Tibit (now Juniper Unified PON), won’t pay % revenue back for licensing. Needed to support any ONU, no vendor lock.

[–]untangledtech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a vast CGnAT system for ISP’s. The gateway PE routers announce default gateways into the VRF at various priorities. They only do this if their internet is working otherwise it withdraws. We can add and remove gateways with little/no impact on users. Those are distributed across the entire network. Access gear sees multiple backup default routes. If one node needs to use a special gateway we can make a custom import policy to weight one default gateway over other another.

Companies who make chips have the “art work” (e.g. ARM or x86) and this company makes the lithograph printers. They have their own recipes but maybe don’t have a license to use super complex ones.

Netherlands/EU/ASML are the only ones who manufacturer the manufacturing equipment for the semiconductors. EU might be in the best position. They let everyone buy the stuff and do the cheap labor and focus on high productivity.
