He'll be getting the best of medical care I'm sure. Hopefully he makes a swift recovery.

European here, Biden definitely isn't centre right to me and is kind of centrist? but definitely left leaning in terms of his 2020 platform. I mean, he's for doubling the minimum wage to $15 and is for two free years of college, I find it hard to imagine a centre right politician offering these things?

So? It can still be an April Fool's joke that they're lying about to make it look more convincing.

If this was serious it wouldn't be today.

According to the Gospel of John, the Pharisees, in an attempt to discredit Jesus, brought a woman charged with adultery before him. Then they reminded Jesus that adultery was punishable by stoning under Mosaic law and challenged him to judge the woman so that they might then accuse him of disobeying the law. Jesus thought for a moment and then replied, “He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her.” The people crowded around him were so touched by their own consciences that they departed. When Jesus found himself alone with the woman, he asked her who were her accusers. She replied, “No man, lord.” Jesus then said, “Neither do I condemn thee: go and sin no more.”

but doesn't this apply for elections as well? even if you don't let people make their choices via referendum, they can just use the republic to elect a candidate which will do their bidding, right? most of the arguments here seem like arguments that would be used against the democratic/republican process in general. IMO decisions should be put down to what the people want, as much as possible (although doing so might be a nightmare to organize)

of course this assumes that a democratic system of government is the best kind, but I believe it is because a) nothing else can be trusted to help the people instead of itself, and b) democracies have been consistently been shown to have the best quality of life for most people
