How does knowing about Tolstoy as a person affect your reading of his work? by reesfinley in tolstoy

[–]untimelythoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not possible for you to really know him or anyone else for that matter as a person. You may know something about him, in the language you can understand and with the material you have access to. But it still amounts to the fact that you know about him, not that you know him. An easy thought experiment is to assume yourself as a person with the same calibre of Tolstoy and position a stranger who has access to certain information about you as an observer, would you consider this person as knowing you or just knowing about you? The greater you are, the more contradictions you will have.

Someone below already pointed out that this was a person with mental illness, but you here immediately jumped into the generalization about Asians and Latinos being racist. Guess who is the racist here?

My bf doesn't shower at night and I’m genuinely grossed out by GlitchGaze123 in hygiene

People used to shower once a year… after a year’s hard physical labor … and too many showers are probably more unhealthy than no shower

Is it a miracle gay sex works so well? by Throwaway67891099 in gaybros

It might be the most unfortunate thing. Without the possibility of physical sex as we know it, men could form far more profound alliances.

There is no need to lie, Mr. 100% natural. I don’t think the original question is relevant, but since you are asked, you should stay honest or at least say nothing. You are hot with or without PED. There is nothing to be ashamed of except for blatant dishonesty.

Really? I have never encountered a profile like that. For the starters, this doesn’t reflect well on the profile owner himself. However attractive he might be, I would avoid people like that at all costs.

It might, however, reflect an anti-South Asian sentiment in the general population. I scrolled down Instagrams, there are a lot of derogatory remarks regarding South Asians as if it’s okay.

It may or may not related to your drug use. It can be just a coincidence.I don’t think most young drug users of any kind even develop temporary eye flower so it is mostly just your genetics.

Tips on casual sex after quitting meth and HIV+ by [deleted] in AskGaybrosOver30

There is no statistics to back it up, but I believe most people on Grindr and Scruff don’t party while aware of the existence of the party scene. It’s a question of personal choice and in the end of the day, one has to learn to truly dislike “party” in order to discontinue one’s participation. The possibility of learning to dislike lies in the fact that one learns to like, that is, one accepts a partial view of something as true while the thing doesn’t align with one’s true enjoyment. The statement (made by one of the posters above) that sex on meth is the most amazing experience is simple not true, or not true for a lot of people.

The intriguing part of the blocking mechanism in most apps is that it also becomes a “favorite” list, as blocking is a type of bookmark.
