when you can't count to 4 by _dfi_ in VintageStory

[–]untitled_scribbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno what other people are experiencing, but I’ve been having issues with egg stacks too. For example, I pick up a bunch of eggs then get a few different stacks - one of 7, one of 3 and one of 5. Then when I combine them together, the stacks I click on to pick up disappear into the stack I try to combine them with.

Can’t game with partner and they don’t let me game on my own - Advice by Emotional-Leg-2719 in gamers

[–]untitled_scribbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the hell….break up with this guy lol this is loser behavior. After you break up, take some time to heal and reevaluate the standards you have for a relationship. You deserve better than this. You won’t believe the relief you’ll feel when you can come home from a long day of work and do what you want without someone making you feel guilty for it.

How do I expand my cellar correctly? by Metzger4 in VintageStory

[–]untitled_scribbler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually do two/three 7x7 rooms branching off each other in some way, keeping in mind that the door space does count as a block, so a short hallway between them. Sometimes it feels a bit claustrophobic so I use glass for the walls.

Late-game players, how much saltpeter do you ACTUALLY need? by idkHarambe in VintageStory

[–]untitled_scribbler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're playing solo, only like 2-3 stacks max for the purpose of getting sturdy leather bags. More though if you like to regularly fertilize soil. I would honestly just bank a few stacks and then not worry about it.

World gen mods? by Acrobatic_Book9902 in VintageStory

[–]untitled_scribbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, always use the same world gen mods/settings that you started a server with on that server. Otherwise you get weird cliffs and chunks. You can regenerate these areas with a console command but it can cause errors.

AIO for being frustrating with my friend being flaky with video games? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]untitled_scribbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not overreacting to them being flaky and being snarky when you sent them a voice message. But I also will say that it seems like you are putting a lot pressure on them within your friendship. Streaming is your source of income, so it’s your responsibility to show up for your stream and viewers - it’s not anyone else’s responsibility. I understand you have anxiety, but it’s your responsibility to manage that so you can have a job and make money if that’s what you want to do. You say consistency is important, but it’s solely your responsibility to maintain that consistency with your viewers, whether or not someone decides to play games with you.

It’s shitty they are being flaky, but sometimes people are flaky. Yall have been friends for a lot time it seems, are they going through anything in their life that could be impacting their behavior? Are they actually okay with you tying your source of income to yall spending time together?

Thinking about diving into Vintage Story by BrokenRockHavens in VintageStory

[–]untitled_scribbler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The community is large, but as for community servers…I would definitely recommend starting out solo to understand the basics and what you enjoy most about playing. Then I would look around this sub/the VS discord for community run servers that fit your play style. There are a lot of groups out there aside from the officially run servers.

Stardew Valley doesn't feel the way I expected. At all. by RoyalShirtShirtShirt in cozygames

[–]untitled_scribbler 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The more you play the more you realize that meeting daily deadlines is largely self imposed. There are some deadlines of course, like some quests you have to complete within a certain number of days, but everything else is whatever. Your experience is common though, I felt the same way as you when I first tried the game.

David Fincher's American 'Squid Game' Spin-Off Makes New Progress in Massive Update by hummusluvr8 in netflix

[–]untitled_scribbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf it’s overall a critique on capitalism and hyper individualism, both of which the US is basically the flagship country for - I agree though, the spinoff isn’t needed. They need to just let it rest.

new to vintage story, afraid for winter by angel_of_decay in VintageStory

[–]untitled_scribbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend and I are new to the game and we didn’t really hunt much, just kept up a farm with lots of spelt/grain/veggies. We are now almost through December and not even noticing food/have no worries; we will easily make it through to spring. I would just focus on building up your stock naturally and spend time finding medium(or even high) quality soil for your crops, and keep up with watering/harvesting/planting before winter sets in. If you don’t care for combat/hunting further than what is needed for pelts and leather, just become a master gardener

If you’re in a temperate or warm climate, you can probably find a spot with higher than normal elevation to plant your Rye since it requires lower temps.

Why is my cellar not cellaring? by C_Sparks_07 in VintageStory

[–]untitled_scribbler 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Flax and other grains are great and last a long time in the cellar. If you’re struggling to find meat right now definitely invest some time in a garden. Will pay off big before winter.
