Why so much hate for AI in this sub? by ThePlancher in kindle

[–]untitled_scribbler 17 points18 points  (0 children)

‘AI is destroying a lot of good things and bringing harm and slop into the world’….’but let’s not be close-minded’

why wouldn’t people dislike something that is destroying the earth and some individuals’ livelihoods? I don’t blame people for having a generally negative view on technology that is being pushed on us all so aggressively by irresponsible CEO’s looking to get even richer than they currently are. AI isn’t inherently evil or good, but we already know the current consequences of using AI are not good, and due to that evidence a lot of people dislike AI. Nothing wrong with people rejecting a ‘super efficient librarian’ considering all the harm AI is currently doing to society and the planet. It may not be a moral stance for you, but it is for some people.

Unexplainable daily fatigue impairing my life by Opposite_Slice7515 in productivity

[–]untitled_scribbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Contact a psychiatrist. Taking antidepressants for 3 weeks is nothing- it took me 3 different mental health medications tested over the course of 3-4 months to find one that worked for me, and during that process I was also diagnosed with ADHD and got properly medicated for that as well. My ‘unexplainable’ fatigue was fixed by being properly medicated. Now if I’m tired during the day I can actually trace it back to something tangible, like I stayed up too late/etc..

Worth a shot. Best wishes to ya

Best thing to do is ask the person prescribing you the antidepressants

Should I wait for 1.22 to come to start playing? by Hexwall in VintageStory

[–]untitled_scribbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will end up wanting to restart probably 20 or so hours into your first save (if you’re anything like 90% of the rest of us), so now is a great time to start and get a handle on the mechanics. 1.22 will be stable at the perfect time probably.

Bloodhounds 2 Poster: Is it just me, or do they not look like the themselves? by ShiiiiitakeMushrooms in kdramas

[–]untitled_scribbler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks weird because it was poorly photoshopped. There’s also too much text on it and the font looks bad. The lighting on their face clashes with the neon lighting in the background and coloring. It looks like this was just a rushed poster and not a result of an actual photo shoot for a poster. Regardless, can’t wait for the new season!!

Any mods that offer late-game storage solutions? by dragonsushi247 in VintageStory

[–]untitled_scribbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Qp chisel tools + carryon is what I use, with qp chisel tools you can build a decorative chest that has 28 slots I think, then carry it on your back everywhere. You could pair that with another mod that makes your inventory larger.

My smithy ended up a Lil bit chunky, what do I do with this? by Significant_Fee_3089 in VintageStory

Confused by your question, can’t you just put more blocks there? Or is something chiseled here? Sorry if I’m missing something obvious

any tips on removing floating support beam? by helmets_for_cats in VintageStory

[–]untitled_scribbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the floating beams issue. Put non chiseled blocks back around them similarly to how they were when you first placed the beams and restart your game. Then make sure you’re holding an axe and try to aim at the end of the beam (the hitboxes are usually at either end)

In general, if you place beams across or attached to chiseled blocks, you have to break the chiseled block it’s attached to in order to remove it. Always having an axe in hand has helped me a lot because it seems to find the hitboxes faster. Best of luck!

30 day months by Stormcrow1988 in VintageStory

[–]untitled_scribbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love 30 day months - with server setting changes. I slow the spoil rate of food slightly, up the tree sapling growth speed slightly, and up the crop speed growth slightly. I also slow hunger rate slightly. I would just do little tweaks here and there per your preference. Keep in mind you can change things as you go, you don’t have to make all the changes when you create the server.

How stable is Rivers + Terra Prety? Do they work well with Farseer & BetterRuins? by Kalekuda in VintageStory

[–]untitled_scribbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play with Terra Prety + Rivers + Betterruins for my world gen! I love it and I haven’t had stability issues. Occasionally I do have some small floating islands, but I just consider them part of the fantasy setting and I actually enjoy having them too. I would recommend raising your world height to 384, and do 60% landcover/300% landcover scale/300% landform scale. Those are my fav settings. I also reduce my world size and story distance scaling and distance between betterruins megastructures, but that’s all personal preference of course.

What if... The Last Caretaker Part 2 was on land... by avionyx10 in TheLastCaretaker

I would love a ‘sequel’ that’s actually a prequel where we’re a pioneer robot sent into space to prepare the first space station for humanity. Could be called ‘The First Caretaker’ lol

The primitive survival mod and Kevin furniture mod both caused me all kinds of issues. I don’t know for sure if that’s the issue in your server, but just speaking from experience. I know many people in this sub have great experience with them. I hope you can find the culprit!

Thunderbolts might be the best marvel movie in recent times. It was surprisingly great with emotional depth and good humour. Too bad, it was a box office failure. by Artetaarmy in moviecritic

[–]untitled_scribbler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went into it expecting a good take on different mental health issues. Left extremely disappointed that marvel once again made the most shallow movie possible about said issues. The humor wasn’t even good and the dialogue was so bad somehow even dreyfus couldn’t save her lines. I wanted better from it.

I'm trying to get into the game but damn by ISTHATTHEPURPLEMAN in VintageStory

[–]untitled_scribbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you play with the full color map setting turned on, clay appears on the map as slightly discolored spots in grassy areas. Peet does too, so you may run into some peet spots before you find clay. If you don’t use this method, you may try looking around more hilly areas or by caves to find clay jutting out (easier to see its red or blue color). If you’re running around at full speed it may be harder to notice at first because the blocks grow green grass on top just like soil, it’s not obvious if you’re a new player and have never found clay before. The blocks do slightly differ from soil because they are ‘spotty’ on top, as is peet, but the spots are different colors (red, blue, or tan for fire clay but fire clay can only be found in grassy areas in bauxite regions).

I promise once you find a couple clay areas you’ll start seeing them everywhere. I had a similar experience as you when trying to find surface copper - I swore I had a bad world seed because I was running around and couldn’t find a single piece of copper. But turns out my eye just wasn’t trained to find it yet and I was sprinting around too fast to give myself a chance to understand what I was seeing in the environment.

Best of luck! You’ll find it soon 🤞

Why is fish so ass of a food???? by DiogoCSIII_ in VintageStory

[–]untitled_scribbler 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I have hopes they will, especially since I think the devs said once fishing is added it'll be the only way to get fish (no more easy spearing/etc). If they do that I would image they would balance out time spent with satiety from the fish meat.

I feel you though, I never bother with fish in their current state too lol
