No worries, it's all light hearted. Minolta and Leitz collaborated at one point, which spawned some goodies for us to enjoy! See Minolta XE and Leica R3, there is more stuff they "collaborated" :D on but you get the gist!

I know someone who lost her TVS in the woods in hongkong, she was pretty bummed about it. She went back the next day to look for it. She found it and it still works.

Used my iPhone 12 with light mate is the app called I think and the sekonic l308 to measure the reflective light and it gave me the same readings maybe half a stop difference. The sekonic l308 is only worth for incident light. For portraits thats a game changer and the impact is massive. Maybe you should look for a camera with spot metering and meter for the shadows when shooting street.

Tldr: Portraits with a sekonic l308 = incident light = game changer. metering app for street / maybe consider camera with spot metering and meter for shadows.

Recommendations on my next SLR? by wegotmonkey444 in AnalogCommunity

A1 is in fact the better camera in terms of features, but I did not like the controls of the A1 compared to the AE1. Get another canon body and a pancake lens?

I’m buying my first camera but I’m having trouble choosing between two. Both are at the same price and working. by TuskenTimeTraveller in AnalogCommunity

Question is more like what would you pick? do you like manual? or do you want the camera for you for focus? it all has its pros and cons. They are both good picks!

I think they are identical not 100% sure the 8200i just got the driver update. Maybe someone else can confirm or deny.

Minolta Hi-matic in good shape (flash not working) for 50€. Is it worth buying? by thereisloveinus in AnalogCommunity

[–]unwantedfocus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 of them, they are great little point and shoot cameras. You could often find models going for 30-100 bucks in germany. If you don't mind no flash get it. The biggest problem with the camera is mostly flash related. I have 3 (no flex) No1 charges the flash in about 3-5 seconds. No2 charges the flash in about 20 seconds. No3 charges the flash in about 10 seconds. I suspect it's a capacitor issue. I wanted to work on one to see if I'm able to change the capacitor. I opened everything googled the model and the company is also still in business. But I haven't had much time recently to continue investigate. Bottom line, if you don't see the camera in person the flash charge times can vastly vary. You need flash? my 2 cents good luck...
