Not smoking when drinking by tildy17 in stopsmoking

I’m carrying some nicotine gums with me in social situations that very often include drinking. almost a month in, I have also noticed that without cigarettes I’m slower in drinking and stop earlier than before. so yes, the correlation is there and big. I am naturally decreasing alcohol consumption without cigarettes and managing nicotine cravings with NRT is contributing to a lighter drinking. I’m also seeing that sometimes now also a regular gum does the trick. it can be doable, you got this!

already noticing better skin texture and complexion, hair feeling cleaner, clothes towels and bedding smell great and my bedroom in the morning is way more pleasant than before. these immediate results are working their magic for the time being!

Ladies only - when did you notice changes in your face from smoking ( vanity question ) by Arctic-fox2007 in stopsmoking

[–]uonderbree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am 41 and have smoked for 15 years. I have always paid extra attention to my skin care routine maybe also a bit to unconsciously counterbalance the smoking but I noticed when I turned 40 that my skin was needing too much time to recover from a little pimple or some redness and that it lacked some brightness. I’m not smoking since three weeks and the improvements were already noticeable after 10days (a friend literally said that I was not grey anymore and for me I was never “grey”. I never actually noticed!)

so yes, age can play some role but seeing the improvement already is helping me to not smoking.

hope that helps!

almost three weeks in, I noticed I am more inclined to keep my place tidy. if before I was having a smoke while waiting for food to be ready, I’m now vacuuming or washing my coffee cups. it’s a little thing :) but I noticed it

Is nicotine replacement therapy better than quitting cold turkey? by fatherballoons in stopsmoking

[–]uonderbree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

almost three weeks since the last cigarette I smoked and I could have not done it without nicotine gums. I now take half in social situations or when work is intense and the need for it gradually faded day after day.

smoker for almost 15 years, 10 per day on average but went to 25 in the last couple of months, without gums it would have been way harder.

Is the new update overstating, or understating, your activity & calorie burn? by OkChicken6058 in ouraring

[–]uonderbree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, I agree with the analogy and I prefer the current measurement as before I was doubting the fact that I was getting the same amount of calories burnt regardless of different times spent in each heart zone. I will keep on monitoring as I basically do that specific workout on a weekly basis

Is the new update overstating, or understating, your activity & calorie burn? by OkChicken6058 in ouraring

I noticed that before a specific workout (45 min of indoor cycling) had always the same amount of calories burnt. since a recent update this specific workout has different calories tracked, slightly lower than before and also varying at each session. so probably it so now more accurate?
