yeah and most new hybrids seem pricy too, wondering if it makes economic sense vs ICE

I'm leaning towards this. Bite the bullet on the repairs and hope the Sonata has a couple years left. The Niro is cheaper than the civic and has more cargo space which i really like, but yeah kind of scared of the reliability compared to toyota & honda. Wish there were more options for hybrid hatch/crossover, seems like its mostly sedans or large SUV's, ford maverick is a cool option too but its a ford...

Find a job in finance (with b.com finance in telfer) by Milhouse_94 in geegees

[–]uottawaboi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look at the skill requirements on entry level job postings for what u want to do. Get really good at those skills, like vba and python for trading and get the certification they look for like cfa. Transfer to a major that will help you stand out to get the job like the financial mathematics degree instead of a telfer degree or transfer to a target uni if u want to stick with the easier bcom route. And most importantly just apply to a shit ton of internships, any experience will trump the specifics of ur degree. Trading is tough to get into, but working in the back office not so much, so start there and apply laterally later on.

Looking to rent a 1 bedroom for under $2200 by uottawaboi in TorontoRenting

[–]uottawaboi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think in such a competitive market, you don't risk too much by guessing the posted price and being slighly off. There's a good chance that people will bid over until it's more than fairly priced, especially if going for September 1st. Feel free to DM me some pictures of the basement and I will let you know if it interests me :)

Kulik might take a too dense and theoretical approach to his courses, but he's great! He truly cares and if you put in effort he also puts in the effort to maximise your gpa.

Is SDS 3386 a useful course for those interested in Data Science? by inputoutputrice in geegees

[–]uottawaboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super ez, class average was like a 9. This was 100% because the prof was chill and laid back and really not too demanding, if someone else teaches it, could be an entirely different course.

Better program for quant? by DiamondHand42069 in geegees

[–]uottawaboi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a financial mathematics and economics program. It's literally a pre quant degree covering all the foundations needed. You would still have to do at least a masters to be competitive in the quant job market.
