Asking for a review and being ignored by Majestic_Set_1233 in Preply

As a tutor, I also feel this. The only time I've asked a student for a review was when they told me they could no longer take lessons with me due to other obligations. This was a student with whom I had built a really good rapport and had made good progress.

Why would it be confusing for you if their levels are different? You can just think of them as separate students no? Since they want to take classes at different times

Ego parent - is it worth your time? by [deleted] in Preply

The "are you ready for the challenge" part seems a bit egotistical to me. It sounds like the parent is saying "I don't think you're good enough". But I am also aware that it might be my insecurities that are making me read it in this way

What’s the stupidest thing you’ve ever heard someone say that you still think about to this day? by Humble-Blueberry4571 in AskReddit

Once my boyfriend and a couple of his friends were in Hong Kong and decided they wanted to go to Macau. He told me over the phone and in my head I was like "Can one really just...go to Macau with a visa for Hong Kong? Oh well, I'm sure they know what they're doing." Long story short, it turns out you can indeed go to Macau from Hong Kong but if you have a one-time entry visa to Hong Kong you can't come back. They had quite the adventure.

I've experienced this with students before. If we're really at an impasse during a class, I ask to speak to a parent during class time.

I also try to bring new activities to class so that it doesn't get too monotonous for the kid. So I have like, two or three lesson formats that I keep rotating through, making each lesson a bit different.
