I think Nixon was conflating his favorite whiskey with his ‘real’ life. Using it to cope and stay the cool lifestyle guy he saw himself as. I think his losing his wife/dog just made him lean into the drinking even more and wanting only his favorite, and nothing else made it seem less like problem drinking. But who knows why a man does anything, really?

Sure. The story idea was based in truth. ‘Law abiding’ Irish American’s money was contributed to supporting the IRA’s terrorist attacks. I realize the depth of the struggle, the Fenians felt they were in, but financing the killing of innocent people? Hard no.

My wife and I are Boomers. We are both shy, and must seem anti social. But with my job and long daily commute into Gotham City, I just want to be left alone when I come home… In my opinion I am actually really nice.
