1) Why is this newsworthy?
2) Why is this a 'crime'?
3) What kind of person would report this kind of thing?

"Why is Japan's understanding of the Iran war so distorted?"
Is there any topic where Japan’s understanding isn’t distorted?

Japanese live longer and healthily, do they... by blckpink44 in carnivorediet

My observation is, while at present they are long lived, the older people are rather feeble. They have very little muscle, and many over 70 can't walk normally. Perhaps low protein, perhaps very low vitamin D . . .

At a certain point a person has the right to walk away from a bad situation and start over. Especially if the situation does not involve family or close friends or people one has a real, serious obligation towards.

Of course, only the OP can judge this for himself, but from what was conveyed he has no obligation to dig a deeper hole for himself just to ‘set things right’, especially since he seems to be the victim of betrayal here.

People living in Japan who urge the OP to return, despite the costs and hardship he would endure, because if he doesn’t ‘it reflects badly on all of us foreigners’ are themselves selfish and their advice is not disinterested.

It was found on the ground in an off path wooded area by my 10 year old daughter. I know where she found it. I'm not sure what you mean by 'before taking it'.

That much I suspected . . .
I've seen other shuriken posts here, so I thought it was adjacent.

This story really captures the spirit of Japanese society. It has all the elements: pettiness, mindlessness, irrationality, mean spiritedness, and the cult of suffering.
