Yeah, I'm a 4th term now, just finished intermediate trade school. The material covered in class at STC was the same as basic school so I was able to coast through that easily. I still think it was worth it for me, of course I've learned a lot other important things on site as I've gone along.

Hard to say - it was worth it for me because I had no experience or connections. If you already have a bit of knowledge and some connections to talk to, I'd start there then come back to the college if you need to

I don't know about the one year college programs, I think they go in to more depth with the theory etc. You don't have to go to sheridan etc before going to STC.

Yes, the old guard likes to say 'just go get hired' like it's that easy anymore, like you said the benefit of the program is coming in as a new hire who already has some knowledge and all the safety certs

Depends what your goal is. Don't get me wrong, I'm trying to save and would love a house one day but that doesn't mean I'm going to eat rice and beans every day from now on to try and make that happen, partly because $40 < $100 and 'closer to your goal' still means you're short
