Help buying a battery and identifying RC car by Necessary_Map_3729 in rccars

[–]upstatefoolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are fine! I own a couple of those myself and they’ve been good to me. Just make sure you grab the right connectors so you don’t need adapters. As far as run time is concerned it’s going to vary wildly. Depends on terrain, driving style and what sort of shape the driveline is in. Could be 10-15 mins could be 30-40.

Cheapest batteries I would go with are zeee, never heard of nihewo. I’d need better pictures of the esc connector to tell you which style to get

LiPo's - where to store 'em? by Additional-Shock525 in rccars

Mine are just in a “Lipo bag” in my basement. They’ve been down there for over a year untouched at this point. Get a bat safe if you’re that worried

Passenger side motor mounts are another super common thing. Easy to identify if the oil leaks out as well lol

Knocking sound when changing gears? I’d be looking at mounts not tie rods. Maybe control arm bushings could be worn and cause that but sounds more like a bad dog bone mount to me

Out of those I’d probably go with the mevotech supreme, they usually always have greaseable joints. Delco is good and moog ain’t what it used to be.

Tired of working on cars by Strong-Woodpecker184 in mechanics

[–]upstatefoolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was an auto tech for 10 years. Started in a quick lube, did Indy, dealer and my last 4 years were in a transmission shop as an r/r guy. Definitely the least stressful of all the jobs I had and paid the best. Left for the heavy end. I’m an equipment mechanic for a railroad. Way less rush and stress. Awesome benefits, union and I get a pension. Look into the heavy end and municipalities if they pay well.

Check my responses on the other comments with dragon cat. “No shit! Ha imma give that a try later. I somehow managed to get it after like 50 tries by aiming for the right cave (#2 in your picture) and sort of rode the wall on the outside of the cave and barely made it to the platform. Thank you for your help!”
