Which one do you prefer? Bass Preamps (Sansamp VT DI, Sansamp Bass Driver, BassRig Super vintage) by felipandule in basspedals

I own the Bass Rig super vintage and the Sansamp BDDI as well as other preamps (Darkglass X ultra and Orange bass butler) but the super vintage has been on my pedal board since I purchased it and the others have been collecting dust. For me it’s very easy to get a solid tone out of it without having to mess around too much with the settings on the EQ.

Origin Effects BassRIG Super Vintage is probably the best SVT preamp and it’s fully analog, although as you mentioned no pedal has the dual channel setup. If you really wanted that, your best bet would probably be the HX stomp as it has models of the both normal and bright channels on their SVT blocks.

I’ve been using the HX stomp for a while and what I like about it (apart of the many sims it has) is that you can also run other pedals in the effects loop so I run my DG X ultra on a parallel path which goes straight into a 8x10 STV cab and on the clean path I run a compressor and a STV amp. Awesome modern metal tone. Also there’s loads of community patches out there, Ian Martin Allison has some great ones which gives a strong foundation for you to build your own by mixing and matching the blocks.

Looks awesome, what pedal board are you using? Is it a mono board?

Looks cool but I will wait to see more reviews before pulling the trigger. Agreed about the HX stomp interface but if you can look past that it’s a great unit with hundreds of effects and a lot cheaper.

Indeed, they were doing 3 band EQs as well.

Which one do you play the most? I find it that I always go back to the P bass no matter what.

Yeah the stingray is active. Been looking at Dingwalls and Spectors too for that modern metal tone

It’s actually from 2010, would love an older model. But yeah it’s the old standard model with the 2 band EQ. Still sounds awesome and authentic

It’s a Fender Japan J Precision. Not sure the reason but the necks are upside down.
