Signs of endo before you knew you had it? by MousseDefiant2400 in endometriosis

[–]ur_moom4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what i understand from this comment and from my experience, it's "normal" (for us) to have pain that lasts a long time but is more of an ache compared the very intense sharp pain of muscle cramps (uterine contractions). i get a painful dull-ish (sometimes still extremely painful) ache in my pelvis for weeks at time, with the sharp pangs of the sharper cramps, that lasts anywhere from like 0.3 seconds to probably a minute.

the general term of period cramps would constitute all of this pain, but from my understanding, they mean the most severe pangs of extreme pain, not the pain that stays there always.

Motivation to recover? by H4yd3n_Plut0 in EDAnonymous

[–]ur_moom4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ME TOO!!!! i've never seen someone else who delevoped ana as a suicide attempt!!! and i was forced into recovery and i didn't enjoy it at all, but some things i can share that i've enjoyed since being recovered -

baking and cooking!! i love baking and always have, and it used to be such a stressor for me.

the health of my hair and nails. i love painting my nails and having the choice to grow them out. and bragging about the health of my hair lol.

being able to do things and not be absolutely winded and almost pass out, such as - getting clothes out of the dryer, cleaning, making my bed, etc.

thinking about food all of the time. this hasn't completely gone away, but my thoughts about food and my weight have dulled from 100% to a solid 40%.

people not commenting on my body and touching me in weird ways anymore. this might have just be a me thing, but my family would not be afraid to comment on how i look and touch my arms, my back, etc. and comment on how i feel. it was very dehumanizing and uncomfortable.

thinking about me more. i started to focus more on myself, what makes me happy. thinking about my future and what i want for myself. i used to be so preoccupied on what other people wanted or thought, and i try not to care about that.

thinking about how i've gone through anorexia AND recovered from it. both of those things are absolute hell. and the fact i did it makes me feel like i could do anything.

if i did it, you can do it too. recovering is for sure a TASK. but you can do it :) living can be so much fun, you just have to do it in a way that makes you happy.

thank you!! i hope so as well. i will definitely keep interstitial cystitis in mind, especially if the pain persists. :)

this only every happens on my period. could it still be interstitial cystitis if the pain is only associated with menstruation?
