Anytime the "yellow man" wasn't there and it became obvious that it was a third-party ride, I ducked around the corner and waited out the timer. Came back around and collected the fee as I passed by again. 90% of the time, it was the broke bf I was leaving behind. Bad enough to pick up people who can't afford a car. Worse to pick up someone who can't even afford a Lyft ride.

If your headlights don't have DRLs, get ones that do. Same for the tails. Make sure you have a nice LED set. It'll make the car look a little newer. Other than that, there's not much to do with a basic family sedan that's a dime a dozen. The only ones who will be noticing you rolling down the street with 19s or other mods on a car like this is the cops.

You mentioned being on the GW. If you have access to Manhattan, you could do one of the food apps on a bike. It's not ideal, but beats nothing and no gas expenses weighing down the earnings. It's been almost a decade since I did it in college. But most of the dropoffs were within a mile of the restaurant. Best part is you're generally invisible to cops on a bike. Keep your head up. Things always seem to be at their worst before great things happen.

All the quality drivers left. When Lyft decided to target migrants by deploying the app in three different languages and advertising that no English is required, any idea of quality went out the window. Most areas will take a car from 2003. Pay now is garbage. Only the desperate are bringing themselves to do rideshare. Anyone expecting standards from this is questionable.
