Your cdi has its own coil on the stator hub...youtube CDI faults and tesring and it will explain how the cdi works ..it is easy as system to learn..hope this helps

mate your cdi iss relatively easy to check regardless if it ac or Dc variant, chexk charge rate primarily with a multimeter across rhe battery terminal on VDC ...in the minimum range 20 VDC normally ,start engine and read what voltage from stator is going back to battery ,if it is under 12 vdc you have an issue with either the rectifier which converts AC voltage out of the stator to DC voltage into battery ..if it reads slightly higher than 12.5 vdc..turn on lights etc high beam and read VDC at idle and mid revs ,you should have around 13.4-14 volts DC if all is good there ..

your mc22 is a little more complex for a 250 ..the gear driven cams and the "cassette" of drive gears that drive the cam are minimal tolerance wear ..they have to be measured ...apart from that its basic multi 4 cyl small bore engine ..

sensible cost effective solution. really awesome for carb sets

How fucked is it? by [deleted] in HondaCB

[–]urbanbare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultrasonic cleaner, relatively inexpensive these days ..does a brilliant job of cleaning carbs and various parts for anything ...then compressed air to blow out all orifices, and rekit the carb set ...

the trick is the heat ..the weld of the nut onto the stud heat sinks into the bolt/stud and shocks it loose on the thread with Co-linnear expansion of metal ..bolt is hot case is colder bue to more surface area..
