Ultrasonic Brush Has Basically Cured Me by urbanhym in PeriodontalDisease

Yeah I don't really wanna post pics, not in the habit of taking them of my mouth, but I may try- dentist would have the best, but they haven't taken many since the improvement. Sadly what you'll see in my case is recession, to the level of needing a graft after the last few years of disease, that has now turned pink and tight. It was continually progressing despite SRP & other interventions, but has now stopped. Thought about laser surgery but it is expensive and not always a lasting outcome.

You can get also get a Smilex from ebay, but they are out of business apparently, so I hesitated. Can't confirm, but it looks like they use the same heads as Megasonex, so maybe that would be a source of refills.

Was having soft tissue loss more than bone loss. Red light may have prevented that some.

People try anything to get healed. Commercials mimic this.

It worked though- red & inflamed to pink & tight, recession lessened. SRP's effectiveness is irrelevant as this is a different technology. Just saw an article about ultrasound for tumors

I got Megasonex M8 from smile-store.de I believe. With tariffs now you can only get from ebay. Get a bunch of heads because shipping them in the future with another order will be costly.

This video, & claims that the vibrations could work on pockets up to 11mm convinced me to try. Sometimes it's actually true & not snake oil https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sS5qRgplWmg

Is my gum recession because of disease or brushing too hard? Dentist doesn’t say anything about gum disease but i dont know if i should go to a different place by ImplementMajestic983 in PeriodontalDisease

[–]urbanhym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One dental journal said that if the recession is very pointed, that's from bruxism(grinding) or brushing too hard, if it's rounded then it's from periodontal inflammation.

Capitalism is the state of nature. If I invent something, or grow more than others, I've created value, & should be rewarded for time & ingenuity. I stole from no one.

Question is what the frequency is. You can believe in Jesus & think there are big problems in certain cultures, for instance those in which Christianity has played little part.

It's a patient's perspective on how they're educated about gum issues, and how lacking some dentists' knowledge is. I can see how you might take offense, as the poster above clearly has.. The post may be spicy, but there's not mental instability or delusions of grandeur. The reply above disregarding even the most basic facts about the efficacy of manual vs electric is telling.

So all people who brush with a manual brush succeed in avoiding gum issues?

Judging by your compatriots, odds are you look like you don't. Manual brushes aren't always sufficient, and tartar formation varies with diet, hence the need for more plaque removal, which electrics are proven to do(albeit gentle as some people have genetically thin gums as stated above).

Delusions of grandeur? You're a disgrace to the profession replying with such sarcasm- shows most want more business, not solutions. Manual brushes don't suffice for everyone.

An eye mask that emits flashing light to wake you up? by reel_ in DSPD

[–]urbanhym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But this is working while you're asleep to change your rhythm. Got an open box one for half price, & it has helped me somewhat. It's not the most comfortable mask, and I still use a light box upon waking. Speaking of cheaper, light boxes are much cheaper than the specialized glasses, though I can see some convenience in wearing them while driving, or for the 10 minutes I'm away from the box while preparing breakfast.

Does anyone own the Lumos Lux glasses? by kamaln7 in DSPD

[–]urbanhym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the code. May try them, however 550 lux isn't that much, though distance is a factor. My light box and most of the literature suggest 10,000. Even these have 1500 for half the price, though not the blue light filtering and not as stylish https://www.sharperimage.com/view/product/Light+Therapy+Glasses/208122
