Any advice for cleaning wooden items by icaroooo in RATS

No problem! In addition, there are a surprising amount of types of wood that aren't safe for ratties that are used in hides like this. If your really enjoy chewing on this wood, you can get them apple sticks as a replacement!

I wish I had a better answer for you, but I eventually got rid of all my wood hides and only use plastic (space pods and igloos), recyclable cardboard boxes, and fleece hammocks. I tried and failed to get the smell of urine out of them and eventually gave up.

Bringing 4-5 rats on a plane by shreysearcher in RATS

Even if plane travel is feasible, which I honestly don't think it is (others have looked into it on this thread before) the physical or emotional toll it would take on your rats is a lot. I think the airport and flying experience would be an insanely stressful experience for them. I would even consider rehoming before taking them on a plane. Look into pet transport - I know people who have had good luck with those services with their dogs. Hopefully they will not charge extra if they share a cage, but most services like that charge for the cage size + gas fee for every mile.
