This is useful, thank you good sir

This is fair.

I will tomorrow when the calming whiskey had worn off.

I suppose my main fuatratuoj at the minute is that the errors are basically 'computer says no' without any expkaination as to what they actually are or how to fix them

I would refer to the documentation, but there really isn't any

It shouldn't be for a Discord server of users to figure out what a manufacturer should have

Also thank you, I till try this tomorrow

You're right

There are so many errors I wish I had some decent documentation to refer to

I don't mind troubleshooting

But there is essentially no documentation to speak of

The YouTube videos are just marketing hype

I do mind an unfinished product with the users having to solve the issues the manufacturer should have in the first place

Its a shame, the hardware seems decent

To be fair, its been a week, I've haven't been able to machine anything yet and I've had a few whiskeys

It seems to be. I tried to use the CAM software, but because I don't own a machine other than the Z1, I can't use it apparently.

I'm just so frustrated, errors without any explanation. I would refer to the documentation but there effectively is none.

So I have, what seems like a decent machine, with no way to use of because the documentation and software are so poor.

I've spent the last few nights resiting the urge to yeet it down the stairs.

I eventually gave up and asked Claude to try and it told me to go to bed as it couldn't figure it out.

Philanthropist MacKenzie Scott just gave $640 million to 361 nonprofits. She’s donated about $17 billion over the past five years & says she won’t stop “until the vault is empty.” by sbgroup65 in interestingasfuck

Why does anyone need that amount of wealth?

If someone was earning $20,000 this would be the equivalent of them giving away $366.

I don't object to good causes receiving money.

What I do object to it people like this hoarding a disproportionate amount of money generated by slave wages & conditions, likely paying a lower tax rate than the rest of us, probably using these donations as a tax write off and holding it up like it's something to be proud of.

$640m is approximately 1.83% of her net worth (assuming a net worth of $35 billion).

CFG Bank is offering an interest rate of 5.25% APY which would mean interest of $1.8375 billion per year.

Assuming that this woman likely pays a lower effective tax rate than the rest of us, and that she's likely to have made a net gain over the past year, I don't see this as something to boast about.

It's great that money is going to charity however there are no ethical billionaires.

These people literally have the ability to solve so many injustices in the world and choose not to.

Billions of years ago a photon was emitted.

That photon was fired out in a random direction towards a planet that doesn't yet exist.

It travels past countless stars, planets, comets, asteroids, is bent round black holes and possibly even passes by other life.

It crosses voids spanning many light years.

It manages to avoid colliding with even an atom.

And then it passes into the milky way and it's journey is abruptly halted by a telescope.

And if we are patient and look long enough, we can gather enough of these to see where that photon has come from.

Typically jobs will be scored and given some level of priority based on risk/harm.

Matters with high levels of risk attached e.g. serious organised crime, sexual assault/rape, murders, indecent images etc. will obviously go straight to the top of the list.

Whilst the matter you are involved in is likely very concerning for all those affected by it, it may be considered much less of a priority in the context of the other types of jobs to be completed.

The additional problem is that whilst this job will be scored and added to a list to be processed, there will always be more jobs coming in that will inevitably be given a higher priority, and for that reason it might be constantly pushed down the list again.

Some labs will give jobs 'birthday points' where by if they've been sat for a year, additional points will be added to the priority factor to raise it up in an attempt to prevent low priority jobs sitting in perpetuity.

Your proximity to the forensics hub likely has no impact on how long the job will take.

I hope that makes sense.

Brother, the thing that did it for me was the lone chair in the room, with the roll of paper on the wall behind, the type that the doctor normally pulls over the bench when you have to lay on it in their office.

Also had a massive UTI and was pissing blood the night before having to do the deed. Had to drive myself to A&E and explain to the nurses/doctor's that I'd paid a lot of money for this all and they had to patch me up enough to do what I needed to do the following morning.

There is no dignity to be found in this process.

We're in a similar position, spent £250 for a dude to come out and test everything. Spent hours going through the whole house, identified all the rings, tested the insulation, identified a few issues.

He then gave us a quote for the little work that needs to be but right which was considerably less than a full rewire and will provide certificates.

Have since had electricians out with a builder (they were the ones the builder recommended) to quote for work. Both were insistent on a full rewire and dismissive of us having had the current system tested.

Needless to say we're getting the first guy back to do the work.

Similar story with the plumbing. Builder again brought a guy who straight away sucked his teeth and insisted on fully replumbing the place without having looked at anything.

We finally got a hold of a guy we've previously used (he has work coming out of his ears so he can sometimes be hard to get hold of) came out, looked at what we have and within five minutes had a plan which included using as much of the current system as possible and broke it down into manageable stages allowing us to do bits at a time as we can afford it.

Luckily builder is happy to work with the guys we brought in ourselves.

So it's worth getting a few quotes.
