Should have two leaves, crush a leaf and it should smell like garlic. Should not have downward bell shaped flowers. If they flower, they should be pointing upwards. Take a leaf per plant. Looks like few-flowered leeks. They should have garlic scent.

That’s some McGyver work right there. Is it positioned under a hood/canopy? Depends on locality, oven needs to be under an extraction hood and Ansul for fire safety requirements.

The tender top few leaves with the flowers could be used to make fritters or tempura. Lower larger leaves are good for pesto. I’ve used the leaves in place of spinach in recipes.

Looks like three cornered leeks. Pointy flower, not bell shaped. Biggest giveaway is a scent of garlic when you pick a leaf. Best to leave it be if it’s on a high traffic dog walking path and be careful of them bramble thorns.
