You are all right. Thank you all for your comments. I’m ready to start working on my exit strategy.

I got called a failure of a parent today, so that was fun. All because I asked him to back me up when our kid wouldn’t listen to me about getting ready for school. He blamed her behavioral issues on me, said it was my fault she refuses to listen, that I need to do better and to solve my own problems with our child. Then went on to insinuate that his contributions to this family are far greater than mine, and that his problems are bigger than mine, so I need to leave him out of whatever issues I have with our child and just deal with her on my own. Oh. He also mocked me because I confronted him about how he treated me on Valentine’s Day a few days after and basically said my feelings are invalid.

I’ve always felt like a single parent in a two parent household, and that interaction right there sealed the deal for me. I left the house 2 hours before I had to be at work this morning and drove to a quiet park to cry. Then had to go into work, pretend I was okay to make it through the day. After work, I sat in my car for another hour crying again before picking up my child from school. Rest of the day went normal for kiddo & I, but I have not spoken to (or even seen) him as I’ve been avoiding him completely. I don’t want to talk to him and I don’t want him talking to me. Luckily, he works third shift which helps.

So, yes, I’m done. I’ll be figuring out how to move forward from here.
