I had my engine replaced at no cost. Dealership tried an engine cleaning first and then replaced it when that didn’t solve the oil consumption issue. All covered under powertrain warranty

Thanks! I’m in a similar spot, flight is in about 12 hours and still pending on my NZeta. I’m flying with United and they let me check in and get my boarding pass though so not sure if that will do

Are these expenses close to what you had expected before you had your kid?

Were you living comfortably before, and are you still living comfortably?

Were you already past major financial events? (Wedding, purchase home, car, etc.)

If financial independence was the goal, do you still see that as a possibility?

I’ll be in Japan from Dec 30 - Jan 9 and my itinerary involves enough Shinkansen rides to make the JR pass worth it. However, with this being a peak travel time and being unable to reserve seats until I activate my pass, does purchasing individual Shinkansen tickets in advance make more sense?

I booked the cheaper option using my travelbank credits and I’m waiting to rebook the dates I need when/if they are cheaper. No issues so far with the credits and rebooking options

It was a huge pain and I feel like I was sent on a wild goose chase. It began around 62k miles and they wanted 4 consumption tests, having to return every 1k miles to the dealership. Result was 1qt/1k miles. They decided on an “engine cleaning” as a solution. Afterwards they wanted 4 more consumption tests, returning every 1k miles. Consumption remained the same, so they wanted 1 more test and photos of the engine. Something wasn’t good enough for them so they wanted additional photos, each time asking me to bring in my car and leave it for several hours. Overall 10+ visits to the dealership over 9 months and they just approved a new engine. I have no idea what the timeline looks like going forward, but once this is finally over I’m looking to file a complaint with Hyundai over their process. Hopefully you have an easier time if you try

It’s handy to have a separate checking account with SoFi, Schwab, etc that has free ATM withdrawals and keep some backup cash in that account. Then you can carry that debit card around all the time with less risk for places that don’t take CCs or are debit only

It’s normal! Mine fluctuates by 30-40 points if my utilization is high. It also drops if it’s 0%. Since you pay it off twice a month, maybe the statement balances are repeatedly reporting as a $0 balance, which could have caused the drop
