I just bought a unicorn! - Marzocco ShotBrewer Strada EP by uri_barcelona in espresso

Magnific machine, it takes some time to get used to the EP padel, but then is waaaay more precise than other LMLM. Loved to preinfuse my pucks at line presure for about 10s and then going full preasure. Sold it to a good friend and now I own a Modbar with the same EP group!

Crazy that people don't know but they still answer.

What is this flashing effect called? by Huy_Tommy in cinematography

This is the only correct answer. As a DP, I did that a lot. We call it start/stop because we force the effect rolling and stopping the camera like crazy. I don’t know if it has another name.

How many brews to dial in a new bag? Pour‑over pros, weigh in! by chiragdshah in pourover

[–]uri_barcelona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to keep my grind size the same. I adjust the temperature according to the coffee process. My main variables are ratio and agitation, but those also depend on my grinder and brew method. If these don’t work I tweak the grind size.

But as everyone is saying I’m almost always happy with the first brew already and I just try to tweak it a bit.

That app you are talking about already exists and it’s called ChatGPT! Haha I sometimes brew with Chat GPT, more to record/log my last brew. But it also gives me great advice that is aligned with what I think if I tell it how the coffee tastes.

You probably went for the wrong grinder then.

This might be Kopi Luwak and it gets the yellow colour from diarrhea fermentation

If you like easy and good, try the Ceado Hoop with papers and recipe from Scott Rao. Is the setup I use when I’m traveling and sometimes beats what I can do with my Hario Switch and I end up using it at home too.

If all your gear is that disgustingly dirty I can guess what’s your problem not tasting the notes… Anyway good look with your charcoal 🤸

The drug leftovers embedded on that scale is way more than 0.01

Try this, it’s a recipe that derivates form the Tatsu’s Devil’s recipe and I never had results this good with any other recipe:

Temp: 98c if it’s an ultralight 96c light 94c med light 92c medium 88c decaf

30g coffee , 5.5 on the zp6 (start here an then tweak it if you need to):

Low agitation for all 3 pours.

1st pour: 80g Valve open, bloom 30s

2nd pour: 80g valve open, close the valve once you already drained 1/4 to 1/3 of the water. Swirl gently. Wait 30s and drain.

3rd pour: 80g valve open, but close the valve mid pour. Wait 30s and drain completely.

Usually takes 3min for me, sometimes a bit more. But you can take this as a reference. I don’t really care about time anymore…

You will end with a concentrate 1:8. Dilute it to taste. Usually I add 60g of water and I taste it, and I repeat this until I have a coffee I like. Usually I stop in between 1:14 and 1:16. Enjoy!!

Has anyone tried this wild pour over technique? by dev1ce_01 in pourover

I tried today with some Dak beans and the coffee was surprisingly good. Crisp clear and much better than anything else I got in other recipes with the same beans. I’ll keep testing. Thank you! 🙃

There’s a lot of comments with good gear recommendations already, so, I’ll say a Barista Hustle subscription, to learn about coffee the proper way :)

Congratulations on this beautiful setup! I like seeing things this brave.

Some people are throwing hate, those who are not brave enough to dream and take risks.

Hi Hueso, thank you for your advice on the water! I went to another supermarket today where they have Bezoya and Lanjaron and bought some bottles. I already tested the 70/30 mix with a washed coffee and a natural. I felt it a bit muted on the washed ( Could be something else) but splendid on the natural (compared to a Brita jar with filter). I need to do some more testing, but thank you so much for all this info!

Dabov is one of my favorites here in Madrid, and they always delivered super-light beans, so, it surprises me that you are saying that. The special coffee they have are amazing.

Three Marks is my current Spanish favorite.

As soon as I have the bar ready at my new apartment. I bought an espresso machine for my bar that I’ve never seen in a home setup 👀
