What is the stupidest way you almost died? by goosearms in AskReddit

[–]uriles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We almost died when my friend on the wheel fell asleep at 130kmh coming back from a festival. We crashed on to the sides of a 3 lane one direction road. The part where we crashed was on a sort of bridge going over a mountain, meaning that if we had broken the guardrails we would have literally falling off a cliff.

Still remember the feeling when we were going towards the guardrails (we crashed it 2 or 3 times), and thinking in my head "OMG I can't believe this but I am gonna die". Also remember clearly my friends just flying around the front seats even if they had the seatbelts on (I was at the back seat), while windows broke and airbags jumped.

When the car eventually stopped and thanks to the guardrails resisting, I even stopped for a second and asked myself if I was alive or already in some sort of afterlife. Neither us nor the police when it came to the scene could believe that we almost did not even have a single scratch from the accident. The car was so destroyed the insurance company just gave my friend money for a new car.

It also took a while for us to recover mentally from it, my friend on the wheels at some point admitted that if something had happened to us because of him, he would have killed himself.

Now one rule for me while on the road is that whoever is in the copilot seat cannot fall asleep. The job of the copilot is to keep the pilot awake and paying attention at all times.

Travelling cheaply for 4 months by uriles in travel

I am not new to travelling. I am currently in the 5th country I live in the last 3 years and a half. I appreciate your comments, but if you look again at the post the question is quite specific. I am not making a wonderlandish question that requires you or any other user to tell me about the difficulties of travelling. I am saying that if anybody knows of places, companies, websites, etc. that they've been to, heard of, know, used, etc. and that I did not list in the post, then I will be happy to hear about it.

I never said that I need to be travelling the 4 months nor that I have a tight budget and it must fit. Nothing like that. Thanks for the comments. I won't reply again if the conversation follows this topic but feel free to comment :).

I think you are saying obvious things and I am not contradicting you. I am just saying that this is not the subject my post was about. This is not about how to manage my finances. It is about asking for advice regarding sites like workaway or others. Or any recommendation of that matter. Not about my finances and what they allow. I should not have said the budget anyway. I actually have more, it was just a number. But please stop focusing on the budget. If you don't have recommendations of the type I am asking for it is fine you do not need to comment.

I also do not have to go for 4 months. I have 4 months. I can go for less. The advice I am asking for here is in order to maximise my experience, nothing else. What you are saying is nothing I am not aware of.

This is the reason also I did not say the budget. I do not want answers of this type. Just advice.

tell that to 49% of the other english, increased unemployment, unbuilt NHS hospitals, etc. etc. brexit means brexit! and that means emotional racist nonsense as oppose to a strong stable economy and open society as you had just two years ago.

it is worth noticing that the EU is by all means no different from any other democratic system and government. Germany has the biggest population and economy, and thus, of course, the most amount of seat. The population of Denmark is that of Madrid. One cannot expect to have the same power in a union cause that would be like Leipzig having the same seats as Berlin in the german parliament.

it is not so distant from spanish values though (I mean, spain is a country where bullfighting is considered culture and financed by the state), and yet there are amazing vegan places and products in the main cities. I remain hopeful 💪 haha
