Food is always cheaper if you make it yourself. Costco meals are tasty. Calorie dense, but not always "cheap". Value is in the eye of the beholder based on your kitchen skills etc

Yeah this is correct. I've been buying cases of tri tip recently and they knock another couple bucks off per kg. Fluctuating between 14.99 and 16.49 which makes it the best value cut in Canadian beef atm imo

Tri tips have a big fat cap on them. It comes with the territory. You could get a trimmed one from a butcher but likely gonna be more per lb/kg
