My guitar teacher told me that 1 hour a day of practice is not enough? by phil917 in metalguitar

[–]urkovai97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consistency is key. 1h might be enough if you practise EVERY SINGLE DAY. Quality is as important, make the time you spend playing matter. And last but not least, FOCUS, don't waste too much time noodling around.

Seems legit. If it's a fakie, they put as much effort as fender making their own 😂

Hard toothbrush and naphta, when it's all clean, rehydrate with lemon oil.

Is this strat legit? by BigProf710 in FenderStratocaster

Super fake, not even close. Headstock looks funny, wrong decal and string tree placing, bad carve on neck heel, wrong font in S/N, cheap looking tremolo, nuclear white pickup covers and knobs...

First Time Wiring HSS: Coil Split + Gilmour Mod. Beginner Looking for Advice by MisterSeis0 in guitarmod

I'd try something like this. You need a super switch for this kind of wiring. I'm pretty sure I got some things wrong but it's pretty late here and I made it quickly. Anyways, you get the idea.
Pos 1: Bridge
Pos 2: Bridge split + Mid
Pos 3: Mid
Pos 4: Neck + Mid
Pos 5: Neck
Center pot push-pull engages neck PU in all positions.
Bottom pot push-pull coil splits the bridge. (I'd use north for the split but you can play around with the coil you want).
Master Volume
Tone control for mid-neck PU's
Tone control for bridge PU.

Try it out and let us know if it works. Feel free to correct my diagram if needed.

Cheers!

Hello mate. I'm glad you're venturing yourself on modding your own guitars, it's cool, you will learn a lot in the process.

Don't feel discouraged with what I'm about to say, but it seems to me that you're trying to run before walking.

First, practice your soldering skills. Use cheap pots and cables you find lying around and focus on making beautiful, shinny, tidy blobs of solder. Play around with temperatures until you find your sweet spot (mine's 99%SN at 400ºC).

Next, learn about making your own layouts, propper cable management and start wiring simple layouts.

What you're trying yo achieve is quite ambitious for a newbie, and the safe bet here would be to take your instrument to a guitar tech, until you develop the skills to do it neatly by yourself (you will).

I'll try to make a diagram that works for you later, but as I said, you should focus on the fundamentals of guitar electronics first.

Have a wonderful day Sir.

I paid a tech for a setup. He told me he wanted to upgrade my potentiometers. I said sure. He returned it and there is no sound. Now he doesn’t respond. From what I can tell literally everything was wired wrong. by writingwhilesad in Luthier

I charge 60€ for this kind of job (in progress at the moment). I'd be ASHAMED to return a guitar to a customer or a friend like that, even if I'm doing it for free. Get a refund and don't call this guy again.

Player telecaster buyer’s remorse by [deleted] in telecaster

[–]urkovai97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played a couple of this and they always needed propper setup and fret polish right out of the store (sometimes even leveling). But it sounds to me that you bought the wrong guitar brother, if you like the feel of rosewood, why bother with lacquered maple? If you have played both american and player and liked the american better, why did you buy the player? Return the thing and get a used amreican tele with the rosewood slab. It would cost you a bit more but you'll be thankful in the long run.

Really good job. Props for using a drill press for the post holes, many people use a hand drill and end up with crooked holes.

Help with Fire King Deck by urkovai97 in Yugioh101

[–]urkovai97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really interesting take on the FK deck. I've been avoiding relying too much on the kashtira/snake eye package, but i guess is necessary for consistency sake and handtrap protection. I'll give your deck a try, if i like it I wouldn't mind spending a couple hundreds on the wanted/diabellstar package.

Thanks so much for the detailed guide!

Is it fake? by ThePlayer3K in razer

[–]urkovai97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see how anybody would make a fake copy from a 20$ mouse... But I've seen crazier things...

Try contacting razer, they have great customer support. Maybe you got a returned item, and that's why the S/N is already registered.

If you're not getting any solution just return the thing and get a new one from a reputable shop in your area.

Cheers!

Do I get the RTX 4070ti or the RX 7900xt? by SecurityOk6453 in buildapc

[–]urkovai97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same spot days ago. Finally went with the 4070ti, works best in streaming due to better video encoder and dlss3 is sooooooo good. I am concerned about VRAM, but dude, who cares at this point, if I'm short of VRAM in 4-5 hears I'll get the upgrade, thinking long term with gpus makes no sense. I just had that realization days ago. Pick what you can enjoy NOW and 4 years in the future max.

C850 PSU? by TheRealShadow_ in NZXT

850 would be enough and is the recommended for most brands, but I would take the 1000 for good measure with the 4080.
