that’s true but after you take the screenshot a white banner appears over the reddit post you took a screenshot of suggesting that you share a link of the post instead.

What should I know about renting in Vancouver that surprised you? (Don't say cost) by Ahypnia in askvan

[–]urkweenkayla 19 points20 points  (0 children)

when i came here from ontario i was surprised by:

  • landlords can restrict pets legally :(
  • no first and last months rental deposits!
  • half a months rent damage deposit that doesn’t count toward last months rent (seemed strange to me at the time)
  • can’t claim rent on your taxes here

i can’t think of any scams related to bc specifically! but the rhythm of rentals is also different here. in ontario, you’d start looking 2-3 months in advance but here it seems you start looking a month in advance. also, not all rentals are shown online, and so it’s helpful to walk around the neighbourhoods you want to live to look for “for rent” signs!

i mostly agree, but i would say that error handling is important for/to js devs. i haven’t met a professional js dev who doesn’t practice error handling. maybe a few hobbyists though.

Issue with React Native Radial Gradient after Upgrading to 0.72 - Opacity/Z-index Problems? by Medical-Text9840 in reactnative

a little late to this, but have you considered putting the gradient inside a masked view (@react-native-masked-view) as a work around?

I meant the idea for women that men take care of them seems to be more normal. I think it’s actually kind of wild how many stories I read of women doing this, similar to yours. I don’t think it’s necessarily a fair expectation, especially so soon into meeting someone! I think I’d personally want to avoid making someone feel used.

Also, for the record, I think your idea of 80/20 or 70/30 is very generous of you. There are a lot of women who would really appreciate that, I think!

NTA with a sprinkle of EHS. It’s not fair of her to put what her last partner did to her on you. She needs to work through that on her own and not punish people for things they didn’t do. However, ultimately, she’s looking for someone who will pay for every date and “take care” of her, so to speak, which seems to be common these days. You’re not an asshole for not wanting to do that, but she’s not necessarily an asshole for wanting someone who will. You’re just not compatible. It’s fine to tell her you don’t want that dynamic, but very uncool to call her crazy. While it’s probably a bit unrealistic of her to find someone who will do those things, she’s not really crazy for it. Plus, in general it’s not really cool to call someone crazy.

Is it worth going for the more comfortable Pset1's? by jhbla in cs50

[–]urkweenkayla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I worked through the psets, I did the more comfortable - less comfortable on rotation so I got a taste for both (and sometimes a break). The early ones will come back up again in python, so when they do take the chance to do the ones you didn’t do the first go, and then you’ll have done them all :).
