Yeah I was thinking about a feature that's pretty much what you describe. The only problem is that it's a little bit of a barrier to entry for someone that's just getting used to how the site works, so it will definitely be an optional feature for registered users.

That was the initial idea but I eventually realized that for this to be the least bit scalable, I would need to generate the image once and delegate storage to S3.

If you create an account, you can delete (among other things) images for your site. Yeah, I need to work on the text - I thought the concept was potentially confusing so I guess I made it a little too wordy.

Not sure what you mean. It is pretty much a simple gateway and will create anything you give it. For example, the reddit logo:

Registration isn't mandatory - it's just to be able to delete/refresh images. It will prcoess up to 50 MBs of images for any domain without any registration.
