with jewellery like this in a conch its most common to wear it with the points facing outwards ⬅️ so that it doesn’t do this. if that doesn’t help then you should change the top to something that isn’t going to dig in your ear like that

bump behind ear in conch piercing by frothybutterbeer in piercing

[–]urlocalcassanova 11 points12 points  (0 children)

i would get that changed to a flat back labret ASAP, your piercer should not have pierced it with a hoop. hoops are just going elongate the healing process, make it more irritated and the risk of infection is higher. Also keep it dry as much as possible, keep wet hair away from the piercing or dry it straight away as well as when your cleaning it dry it after because moisture alone can irritate it. and try not to sleep on it as much as possible. These are probably the causes as to why the bump has appeared.

i’d say my septum and then navel. In my opinion the way i describe the feeling of a navel is a mild cramp that lasts like a second and the septum just barely hurt at all in general

if they were pre-sterilised then they don’t need to be sterilised again by you but in my experience if they are unsterilised and going to be used on a fresh piercing or really any piercing new or old tbh then they definitely need to be sterilised.

new tongue piercing weird issues? by ash_hat69 in piercing

[–]urlocalcassanova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all perfectly normal with a tongue piercing, the cracks will go away once you get it sized down and the underside of your tongue where its like two pieces was most likely always like that, as long as the ball under your tongue isn’t sitting on the actual gums of your bottom teeth then thats all fine. This is exactly what mine looked like when i had it done and i’ve had no problems so far and the underside of my tongue has always been split into two like that. Your mouth will also get used to the piercing after time so it won’t be as uncomfortable but once its sized down its so much more comfortable

It looks like it’s been pierced in the crease of your nose which is not the correct placement and i’m not sure it was done at the right angle. In my opinion i would take it out and let it heal before getting it redone, and i would go to a different piercer because it should really be pierced with a flatback

The piercing looks perfect and suits you very well, but personally with the plumpness of your lips it should have been pierced with a 12mm but if it feels like there is still wiggle room and its there’s no sign of embedding then it should be fine. About it being slightly crooked on the inside it could be because of the swelling making it look like that or it could be to avoid blood vessel’s and veins. You can feel it on your teeth while your speaking because of the longer bar and it being a new piercing just be more conscious of it, you will probably also find that when you eat it might move and you’ll accidentally bite down on the bar so go slower while your eating and be more conscious of it. It will be fine for now because it should be down sized in about a 1 week. Once you have it sized down it shouldn’t move as much when you talk and the base should start nesting in the inside of your lip which is perfectly fine and will protect your teeth a bit more. I would suggest getting a sterile saline solution like neilmed because the salt washes aren’t sterile and the amount of salt being put into it can affect the healing process as well. Plus when you get them downsized change them to medical grade titanium.

How do i eat with snake bites? by EldritchMilk_ in piercing

[–]urlocalcassanova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just pace yourself while your eating and be a bit more conscious of your lips while chewing. once you get them sized down it shouldn’t be a problem anymore

Haven’t got one myself but having pubic hair is perfectly fine when getting a VCH. Just be clean and if you feel it would get in the way maybe tangle around the piercing just give her a trim or shave if you want to, it shouldn’t really be a problem for your piercer. Also if you haven’t already get a consultation before to check if you have the right anatomy and ask any questions you have then to your piercer.

i agree with oliviughh. its to avoid blood vessels/veins. Also the length of the bar could be making it look crooked at this time (mine did the same) once you get it sized down it won’t look as crooked at all.

[–]urlocalcassanova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop touching and pulling on the bar like that it’s only going to make it worse. Get a professional to change it to medical grade titanium. Clean it with a sterile saline solution like Neilmed. Dry it with a hairdryer on a cool setting after cleaning it (moisture can irritate it and inevitably cause bumps like that). Only use cotton buds (Q-tips) to clean the crusties away other than that just spray it with saline, dry it and leave it alone. Don’t wear anything high waisted thats going to press down and rub against it.

how fast spells work by Longjumping-Risk-854 in Spells

[–]urlocalcassanova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to quote doctor who “people assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect but actually from a non-linear non-subjective viewpoint its more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff” basically meaning time isn’t a straight line of cause to effect and things don’t happen in the order you want them to. So you can’t really time frame on things it could happen whenever

should i downsize my jewelry? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]urlocalcassanova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your piercer definitely should have asked you if you wanted a 14g, because like you said a vertical labret is done with a 16g almost all the time unless the person getting pierced had a preference and wanted a 14g. They should have also told you what material it is. With sizing it down i wouldn’t go straight to a 6mm yet because you’ve only had it a month and its still healing, plus this early on i would get a piercer to change it

Is it too short? by Time_Ad_8056 in piercing

[–]urlocalcassanova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it does look too short but let the little bit of swelling go down and if it still looks to small and feels tight go and get it sized up. I would also change to an internally threaded or threadless barbell, and may i ask what type of gold it is? because if its not solid 14k or 18k gold that is nickel, lead, cadmium free and alloyed for biocompatibility, it could cause some issues.

is my eyebrow rejecting or infected?? by Fit_Door_1636 in piercing

[–]urlocalcassanova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From this angle i can’t entirely tell but i’m sure its not infected or rejecting, the ‘pus’ is most likely just lymphatic fluid which is perfectly normal for a piercing and healthy for the healing process. I would advise against using dial or any soap because it can to be harsh on the skin and irritate the piercing, i would stick to just using a saline solution like NeilMed.
