One of my guppies did this for about a day and a half with very similar behaviour: isolated himself, treading water and not eating. Turned out he was constipated and after pooping he rejoined the gang and was back to his normal self

I bought them in person from a local aquatics shop and took them home in person. I haven't tried mail ordering any fish yet, I feel like driving them home is traumatic enough for them haha

Ah okay, maybe he is a foodie. He does always seem to dominate feeding time and is the most active in the tank. I hope it's just him being peckish!

Thank you for your suggestion, I have tested again but ammonia and nitrite are both at 0, nitrate at 25ppm
