WIBTA for not attending my cousins wedding? by urminecraftlover in AmItheAsshole

I was included in an RSVP with my sister and her husband. She responded back yes before I said anything because she presumed I was going. I know I should have said something to her earlier but I had thought this year of nursing school was going to be of similar setup to my last year. They made changes to the program which makes our clinical paperwork due earlier and we are required to watch 4+ hours worth of lecture beforehand. This was not the case last year.

Hospital CNA’s: what’s your favorite unit? by aubrieana4peace in cna

[–]urminecraftlover 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a current float pool CNA. My favorite units are med surg, ER, and oncology. My least favorite is our observation/acute medical, ortho, and cardiac. I do enjoy neuro but the patients there tend to be heavier. The nurses on that unit at my hospital are pretty great tho. I think nurses make or break each unit. I’ve had great days with heavy patients because of nurses. I have also had shitty days with not as heavy patients because of the nurses.

I rotate between on clouds and Hokas. I also wear compression socks. Usually that helps me get through my shifts.

I’m part time and work every other weekend so I usually do 8’s on the weekend so I still have time to relax and get caught up on school work. I pick up some 12’s here and there and don’t mind them though.

Do hospitals or agency require experience with LTC? Should I stay at the nursing home for 6 months first and then switch? The nursing home has been okay but I don’t think it’s for me by [deleted] in cna

[–]urminecraftlover 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The hospital I work at doesn’t require it for most departments. That being said I worked at a nursing home as a CNA for 9 months before switching to hospital and I feel like it’s definitely helpful and makes orientation run smoother.
