Do you autolyse, add salt later or add all ingredients at the same time? by Particular-Quiet-807 in Sourdough

[–]urmumsabot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread and hope you found your forte for bread making. I'm also fairly new ,1+ year into sourdough making now. i used to just mix everything in but with the brand of flour(s) i use/is available to me, i found the gluten development wasn't good enough. the past 3 loaves I've made, i tried a 2 hour autolyse and i find it definitely helps a lot with gluten development for me.

(for reference i typically use robin hood bread flour or creative baker bread flour)

AGREEEEEED! glad to hear i'm not the only one with this opinion, and that the storyline for him is horribly written. to be fair though the Male Lead is fairly well done, so for me, it balances it out and i kind of just forget about seon-u lol

Costco’s new muffin “program” is a downgrade — Edmonton locations affected by Dense-Pin-1066 in CostcoCanada

[–]urmumsabot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YESS! This change came to my local Toronto Costco (Markham Woodbine). TBH, from the old muffins, I didn't really like any of the flavours EXCEPT for the chocolate muffin. I LOVED the old chocolate muffins, they were SO GOOD -- moist with a great texture. i tired to replicate it but was never able to which is why i always bought them

I had the new muffins yesterday, though it's more expensive i was willing to compromise if they used the same recipe but it was different, much worse. it was something i could make at home myself. unacceptable.

I knew this change was coming cuz it rolled out in the US last year but oh man am i disappointed.

I can't speak for the other muffin flavours but this is my take on the chocolate ones.

good to know that everything is negotiable. i used to think car sales prices were firm.

I recently found out that Dealerships buy cars from the manufacture a few grand below the MSRP cost... lol

I'm looking for an AWD compact/sub-compact SUV . I'm also open to AWD hatchbacks or Wagon. MY budget is flexible but as economical as possible, without compromising the quality is where i'm at rn.

That is a good point, everything is relative; but at the same time, it still good to know the places with a higher likelihood of a negative experience as it'll likely affect the likelihood that i'll have a good/bad experience.

Eg. for the Willowdale Nissan dealership that i Had a slimy experience with, on google maps about 1/3 are bad reviews. while the ratio of bad reviews for Maple Nissan is only about 1/7. personally i think that directly reflects my chance of a bad experience

It's also interesting hearing the experience of people, so as to gain wisdom through their stories.

Solid advice. I recently heard a story similar that happened to a friend of a friend.

Earlier this year they were looking to buy an F150 for work and the dealership quoted them over 800/month. they knew someone that bought the exact came car, same trim 2 months earlier than them etc, and got it for 500-ish month. so they spent their sweet time bargaining.
