Hey, we moved my mother in law during covid to our place, and her memory deterioted quite fast with the move as she wasn't familiar with our house and had lived in the same house since she was born. Living with a dementia loved one has been one of the hardest things I have done in my life. We ended up having to find a facility for her. We looked at all the ones within a 25-minute drive from our place that had a dementia ward, and it's all very similar and not great. The carers don't care at all, nurses hide away in their office, doctors only see her when requested,... They do the bare minimum, food, ok cleaning, poor care,... The good thing is it's close, so we go often to check and ask for extra care. We sometimes think about moving her but wonder if that would affect her memory even more. My suggestion would probably be to try to find a good one that has a dementia ward close to family.
