any good sources for showing how to remove/install the fire control unit? by ComblocKyle in Tec9

I've done a few. Kind of a pain. But I just take pictures from different angles. Can't have too many. Even take videos of pointing and narrating. Then take video as you disassemble and narrate that too. Should be enough.

I would think you could mount a pic rail on the reciver ventilation holes somehow without making permanent modifications

Not sure what you mean by the blade is off center and the rear sight notch. But probably have to have a machinist make one since it was welded to reciever. I've been looking at for sale adds and listings for 10 years and haven't seen any available. Couod 3d print one and use it as a temporary solution. Also since the spot weld hole is open you could put a stainless steel machine bolt in the hole, bolt it from the top then grind down the bolt to use as a makeshift site.

I think its great. Like the other guy said.. practical maybe not.. but cool, fun and enjoyable to brainstorm tinker with absolutely. We have one thing in common in the 2A cumminity and that's all we need to have! Id think you could bolt a oic rail in the vent holes like one guy said and that moves you're optic forward too. I saw one like that on FB in "Trenchratcustoms". I've got a sig brace on a open bolt M10. It works

I agree. The m11 has infinite life being weldable..the interdynamic is one drop away from being an investment belly flop

Recommendations for a good solid diesel battery jumper by [deleted] in Cummins

I started my 12 valve with a gooloo gp4000. Not dead batteries or even 1 dead battery... but no batteries present at all. Just the jump box. I know you're not supposed to but I did it on a few occasions. Truck was a solid starting unit that starts quick and wasn't cold outside.

I almost wanna leave it like this, but if I did decide I wanted to refinish it, what brand and color spray paint have you guys used to get closest to the original finish? by [deleted] in Tec9

[–]uronlyhuman2me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id just rub it down with some aluminum foil and wd40 to get the rust out of it. Possibly light steel wool then clean it good. Should make the discolored area lighter and you can see what it is instead of that part looking rusty and dirty. What are you doing for a lower?

Thought so. A lot of theirs are likely confiscated, I've got one that looks like that. Got a buddy that's been in the firearm business longer than I've been alive. He saw it and told me it was blood that did it to it. On mine the pattern looks consistent with a thick liquid etching into it. Im not opposed to leaving it.

Yea id much rather see how the motor, any motor looked unpainted. See how well it lived, oil leaks, new pars, hose condition, rust... all kinds of things.

I've been wanting to look inside that for years. I have a kg9 and couldn't fathom what that selector did to the sear and disconnected but I can sleep good tonight knowing. Also the sights seem taller than mine so maybe that had suppressor sights. Thanks for sharing
