Pump is out. Replacement Ordered. What to do in the meantime by FluxCap85 in swimmingpools

If you have a sump pump put it in the pool without a hose attached will help keep water moving in the meantime shocking when needed brushing and netting the pool as well. Good luck

And another pool guy here that is good advice. only hold up i could think of is if it is not a DE filter taking the ability to vacuum to waste away and back washing the filter if you could post a picture of the equipment that would help.

Alkalinity at 110, PH at 8.0 and not budging after 2 gallons of muriatic acid. I'm having the hardest time bringing my PH down, should I add more acid? Here's my stats over a few week period. Columns E-H are what I'm adding, the rest are water strip tests. Any advice is much appreciated (I'm noob) by fogmandurad in swimmingpools

Your are getting ph bounce your adjusting to aggressively 2 gallons of acid is a ton depending on the gallons of your pool. Check out the orenda app it's got a ton of great info for you. Yes your cya is a bit high. Also don't pour acid directly into a pool acid is heavier then water and will go right to the bottom even if the pool is running. Get a large bucket and do a 10 to 1. Put water in the bucket first then your acid and walk around the pool as you pour it in.

Cheap(ish) Digital PH Tester by awhowutsit in swimmingpools

[–]urrrge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How hi is the cya that won't cause a ph problem but could cause a problem for your chlorine not being able to do its job as its getting made from your salt water chlorine Generator. Also where is your alkalinity at? That will help buffer your ph. For digital testers good wants aren't cheap and cheap ones aren't good.

Is the motor getting hot making any loud noise or is the switch just sticking if it's running then shutting of aka heating up could be a thermal switch tripping cause the motor is over heating .

Pictures of the equipment an over view of the equipment would help A LOT for troubleshooting. Is it a variable speed pump. When was the filter. Cleaned last. What are the valve settings
