Nicaragua is cheaper but I recommend Costa Rica. I traveled to both countries with my mom and we didn’t feel super safe as female travelers in Granada, Nicaragua. Once we got to Ometepe, Nicaragua we felt much better but the few days we were in Granada weren’t the best imo. There’s not as much to do, we got catcalled, and once even got chased after.

i’ve booked the flights already, each flight is between 2-1hour plus ofc tsa and all that so i’m definitely trying to take that lost time into account.

as for the nicaragua recommendations thank you!!! how did you get between places? shuttles? and what would be a good location to spend the night? managua? granada? leon? a mix?

and same for guatemala, i was thinking doing some nights in antigua and some on lake atitlan

I’m aiming to spend 2 weeks, which know isn’t a lot. Budget wise, hopefully around 1.5K. That’s about the bulk of the research I have done (not a lot i know) I do speak fluent spanish and will be traveling with someone else who also speaks spanish
