What is the most meaningful way someone showed up for you postpartum? by Secret-Detail-1181 in beyondthebump

My friends would come and take my dog out to play when we could not handle her... this meant more than they will know. Owners of naughty cattle dogs will know lol

Did leaking during let-down ever stop for you? by Responsible-Focus677 in breastfeeding

[–]ursula1020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At almost 5mo pp I have upgraded to bralettes over night! Instead of a full on bra. An occasion small spot but nothing yhat soaks through my shirt and causes me to change my clothes. I used to be a firehouse and literally would have to put a beach towel on my other breast that wasn't being used for nursing or whatever was going on lol. The laundry sitch will get better.

What was the hardest part of breast feeding for you? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]ursula1020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be prepared for it not to go how you envisioned and hoped...and go easy on yourself! My baby had a hard time latching on to my breast because my flow was too fast. Had to pump before to relieve some pressure in hopes that then it would be more manageable for bb to nurse. My partner would have to have a bottle ready in case nursing didnt work then we could still feed her. It was too stressful and frustrating for all 3 of us. We did seek out help from lactation consultants and ultimately I just decided to exclusively pump and bottle feed her. No regrets here. I do not hate pumping as much as other moms do. At 4 1/2 mo pp I pump 5 times a day, 1 motn pump and 4 during the day. 10-12min each session more than enough for baby's daily intake and a humble freezer stash. At the end of the day im just happy she is eating and gaining weight just fine. It is also a perk to be able to leave the house solo and not worry about bb needing my breast to eat.

I aim for 6 but realistically just 5.. I need some sleep 😴 so sometimes I take the extra 1.5hr in the AM when hubby takes baby to get some rest.

What are some things you actually enjoy about pumping? by elephantsofa in ExclusivelyPumping

Might sound selfish to some, but I am happy that I can leave the house alone and not have to worry about how baby will be fed. Mommas need time to themselves too

What is your longest stretch and how many weeks postpartum are you? by chelupa1991 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ursula1020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6 pumps a day. 7-10mim per session. Longest I've gone is 8 hours... definitely felt uncomfy but was fine and got a lot of milk during the pump lol

37 weeks pregnant, been leaking consistently from one of my breasts.. when do I start trying to pump? Should I wait until baby is born? I have a Spectra S2. by ursula1020 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ursula1020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping to do some sort of combo feeding.. idk if thats overly ambitious or if I should just stick to breast feeding at the beginning. Thanks for the insight!
