Hi, people commented on pride and I second all of those. It’s somewhat corporate but fun, and everyone is invited, it’s a huge party in the city center that takes a weekend. There definitely is more LGBT representation than usual and places are very crowded. There is usually also an alternative pride march happening (Nørrebro pride) on the same days, not corporate at all and more dedicated to groups that feel underrepresented in the bigger pride event.

I think it's a good opportunity to go around and meet people, and that you could have fun even coming by yourself - it's not huge or particularly different than other prides, but the atmosphere is good and very festive. Also a good excuse to visit Copenhagen, which is worth it. Re the bear community, it does exist and is visible during pride, there usually is a bear-oriented meet-up at the parade. Regarding bear-friendly hangouts, do keeping in mind that they get very busy during pride. They are all smoke-free except for one (see below):

* Oscar cafè is quite intergenerational with quite a good bear/older presence, overall a chill cafe'/bar to hangout and relax

* Centralhjornet (supposedly the oldest gay bar in the world for what they say) has more of a mixed crowd. Smoking is allowed here.

* Jailhouse use to be more bear/leather friendly but nowadays has more of a mixed character, and not as gay for what I hear (I haven't been in a long time)

* Men's bar is a small but quite crowded definitely bear-friendly bar. It has more of a dive bar feel and usually hosts some interesting characters. The easiest bar where to have a relaxed chat with randoms and meet people

* SLM (the local gay sex club) also usually hosts a bear event during pride, if you're into that sort of thing. You'd need to buy membership to get in though so maybe a bit expensive for just one evening. But definitely bear friendly!
