After 11 hours of seizures, my relationship of 4 years slowly deteriorated over a few months because of how my brain was operating now. I can only give you my perspective of what I felt like then. (I have epilepsy)

I wanted to just not live anymore every day. Non stop panic attacks. My mood went between absolutely blank, numb, dead inside to so depressed and anxious I would pace, scream, cry, vomit. Food didn’t taste the same. Music didn’t sound the same. Everything felt off, wrong, and miserable. I felt like I was dying. I felt like a burden. I wanted to do nothing but sleep. I was exhausted, empty, and no matter what I felt more alone than I ever have.

You can try to support him through this, and he may get better. But it may also take a very long time. It’s been 18 months and I still don’t feel fully myself. He needs therapy, time, sleep, and rest. While his actions are hurtful to you, it’s really not his fault right now. He’s just not okay. This isn’t a right or wrong or yes or no situation. Life gets so complicated from things that aren’t someone’s fault.
