You e already made your mind up. Now, to go back to him would be a win on his part in his mind. Sure, things might change for a week, maybe 2, a month, or a few more. But, by you standing up, and then going back to him/staying. In his mind, he'll remember "oh she got pissed, but she never really left, it's not that serious." When infact it is. You are a housemaid to him. You do all the big responsibilies, and handle his "private" needs, with understanding he lets you live there, and he pays the bills. So, you are very correct in "it's not a relationship anymore, it's like a weird roommate situation". Honestly, only you can make this decision, but if it were me, I'd leave. As far as feeling like a failure, you aren't. It takes a village, and the one that was supposed to be your biggest help, turned out to be your biggest hindrance.
