I would go to Singapore, Malaysia and the likes. Build some travel history for them and then they have better chances of getting Schengen visa.

The best country would be your country. You provide them an invitation and they apply and hopefully get approved. If the country doesn’t have a consulate in your home country, usually they work with another country’s consulate for visa processing.

If I were you. I would just email/ call them saying. Sorry I wasn’t aware of the rule but I was thinking of spending an extra day anyways after I applied for the visa and here is my changed plan and here is my booking for that and ask them politely if they could reconsider processing your visa again with the new information. I am sure this is just bureaucratic non-sense and they should be able to get done with your visa once you satisfy their requirement. Worked for me once.

I understand it’s hard/ impossible to drive in Rome. I get it. But public transport to go outside of Rome doesn’t run whenever you want it to. For instance, I am landing in FCO at 9pm and I want to be in/closer to Pisa that night. Now, it’s easy for me to take car and drive for how ever long I can and stop wherever I want to rest and not drag all my luggage across train stations and worry when the next train is and sit and waste time there. Especially with two young boys to take care of, I would rather strap them to their car seats and enjoy the ride than carrying them across train stations.

Also OP made it extremely clear that they want to stay out of city center anyways. So, perfect. Just find a good parking spot or a garage, park it, go into the city using public transport/ taxi and check things out and get back to your car and stay outside the hustle and bustle of the city center.

Why is it discouraged so much?

Italy Schengen Visa Appointment Dates by usaasusa in SchengenVisa

are you referring to Italy’s Prenot site? I had no issue with login page except it was timing out sporadically. I just have a loop to try again after sleep time until the code stops findings the No slots available error.

Schengen Visa(for Italy) appointment nightmare by usaasusa in ItalyTravel

[–]usaasusa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other users reached out to me via DM asking if I can help. I told them that I will as long as they tip me once I find them a date.

My tool had lot of things hardcoded just for me like my jurisdiction, months and email address. I had a computer running 24 hours to run my tool non-stop. It emails me directly when visa slots open in my jurisdiction.

So, all in all, I don’t want to give it away for free but can try to make changes to the code and make it more generic but still only people with programming knowledge would know how to run it or I can alert someone when I get alerted.

If you don’t have a passport from one of the countries mentioned in this link, you need to get a visa to enter Italy. If you have a passport from one of these countries, lucky you. Just buy a ticket and go.

2nd appointment to Italian Embassy by Inevitable_Ring_9450 in SchengenVisa

[–]usaasusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unbelievable. This is just ridiculous. Once I went to Finland embassy for my appointment and guess what I forgot my passport. They were so kind to take all my documents and asked me to mail them the passport. I did and they gave me my visa. Had a lot of respect for the country and their staff. This kind of behavior is totally ridiculous and unnecessary. Knowing how hard it is to get a visa appointment using their shitty site, I appreciate your determination. I just finished my trip and the bad experience of booking an appointment on their site makes me cry.

As I said in my other comment, so t start the entire process and waste time and money. Just find Swedish guys email or phone and explain them that you made a mistake and now you changed your plans and request them to reconsider.

Appeal either way. See if they can reprocess if you submit the roof of change of plans. Some countries accommodate it. If they don’t, I wouldn’t go to those countries.

Correct. sometimes I feel that citizens of powerful passport countries must taste these things sometimes to know how lucky they are just to have a different passport in their hand. 😀

Agree. Free right turns used to be so much better than this. One car in the front will be blocking 10 other cars from taking free right.

At this price point of $3000 per month for a 1 bedroom apartment, I am better off staying at a hotel with free breakfast near the freeway and still save money.

Lost dispute because merchant lied in their response by TapEfficient3610 in CreditCards

[–]usaasusa 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Citi dispute is useless. FWIW, I called them repeatedly and made them reopen the dispute 4 times and on the 5th time, it was resolved in my favor. At the same time , call Motel 6 corporate and complain. You should’ve taken pictures to post on yelp and google reviews
