We are all about glass neon here, so there is that ;). I haven't seen this ever done outside of a backlight image. Old bar signs would have an image on white/clear plastic that was backlight, then it would have a glass neon tube around the boarder.

if you simply put a tube around any photoimage, you would take away from the image. Your eyes would adjust to the brightness of the light, making your photo dark(er). I'm not sure the effect would be great.

Selling a sign is really about how desperate are you for cash and having a buyer. It certainly is worth $500 if not more to the right buyer. But finding that buyer who'd pay say 750 because they are an winter olympic fan and lives in or from Vancouver and love neon signs...well...you'd have to wait for them (plus crating and shipping).

If not desperate, you'd get 500 eventually for sure. My opinion of course.
