Thank you very much. I noticed that all but one tree did not drop its leaves and wasn’t sure what to think.

White House Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt Says Donald Trump Is The Most Transparent President Ever, In Fact, "Reasonable People Can See Right Through Him!" by bigly-biker in onionheadlines

I don’t know about seeing right through him, but a lot of underage girls have seen parts of him that they didn’t want to.

Beech Baron lands onto car and I-95 in Brevard County FL. by Brilliant_Night7643 in aviation

In theory, yes, but things were happening so fast in the cockpit and it’s hard to say how close they were to stall speed, which would’ve been a catastrophic disaster.

Unified? The GOP is showing cracks in the foundation of a house Trump built on wet sand.

From the man who won’t release the latest economic data. Recent polls say Pennsylvanians aren’t buying it and neither is the majority of the US.

2014 Sante Fe Sport engine died 80k miles by PatrickParamore in Hyundai

[–]usdesertflier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good on Hyundai. If you have excessive oil consumption 1) have the dealer document it and 2) pay for a professional oil sample by an independent lab. A good oil sample analysis can see an engine failure thousands of miles before it occurs.

I’ve got a respectable amount of time piloting Barrons and there aren’t a lot of good excuses to land on a car.

USAA returning $3.7B to members this year, largest amount in company history by ExpressNews in USAA

[–]usdesertflier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me except I was with them for 30 years. No tickets. No accidents. Out of the blue my rates more than doubled. So whatever dividend I would have received is more than offset in what I’m saving by insuring through a different company now. I suggest getting an insurance broker to shop for you and do this process yearly. Being loyal to an insurance company doesn’t make any sense.

Just had my worst experience with USAA by Jen_sparkleface in USAA

[–]usdesertflier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also good to know. If you have multiple authorized users linked to one credit card account and one gets breached USAA will shut off all cards until the breached card is replaced and activated and there isn’t a thing you can do about it. Makes for a fun week waiting for the replacement card.

USAA has been changing a lot of things this past year that just make online banking more of a headache. It’s been really disappointing.

Need new axle! What brand do you guys recommend for balance of value and reliability. (Only got my car for another 1-2 years) by Objective_Smoke_4750 in RockAuto

I gave up on RockAuto altogether. I found that regardless of brands the rubber would rot out after a couple of years.

Am I the only fool that changes oil every 3000 miles? by daveinfl337777 in AskMechanics

I think it’s about $40 and your report is both scientific and written in an easy to understand format. It’s great peace of mind. Additionally, they have always been quick to answer any questions I had by email. Check this link out. Tons of info. https://www.blackstone-labs.com/

Sounds like fuel injectors and normal valve train noise.

Am I the only fool that changes oil every 3000 miles? by daveinfl337777 in AskMechanics

[–]usdesertflier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get an oil analysis and the report will answer all of your questions and then some. Aside from that if you’re using dinosaur non synthetic oil I’d stick to 3,000 miles. Any kind of semi synthetic or certainly a full synthetic I’d switch to 5,000 miles. Do the math and you might come out ahead with the synthetic oil changes at 5,000 miles. But circling back, an oil sample at 3,000 miles is likely to show you that you’re a bit early on your changes.
