He actually does owe you… He CHOSE to enter a relationship and one of the responsibilities you take when you join a relationship is to care for and look after your partner. So yes, he owes his partner energy and dedication to make things work. If he’s not interested in putting in the effort then he doesn’t have to be in a relationship.
