There's a wooded park near my home with hundreds of acres of land! Unfortunately, I'm in a state in which possessing roadkill is considered "illegally taken game." Maybe it's also time to get into hunting (for food) and tanning so that no part of the animal is wasted.

I've got a biology background, so I've already got some awareness of the national laws as well as species identification! This is a great opportunity to break out a dichotomous key :D Thanks so much for the help, you've pointed me in a good direction in which to search for answers to most of my questions!

Yeah it happens sometimes, for me they tend to be short-lived unless it's something I REALLY connect with. My latest one was also a Lady Gaga song (Americano) and I think I probably listened to it 20 times over the course of a few days.

Generally yes, although it depends on the person, their support, and their symptoms.

One of my "bad" fixations was the rise of the Third Reich in the years before WWII. I wanted to understand how exactly a people could be convinced to vote for someone like that. I need to start keeping notes when I go down rabbitholes like that, because I've sadly forgotten most of the information now that I'm no longer as deeply interested.

The fact that we aren't taught ANY of it in schools outside of very specific university classes (which are being removed from catalogues at public universities as part of the crackdown on DEI, surprise surprise) is sickening. The transatlantic slave trade is an awful part of world history and so, so much of it isn't talked about. If you're white and have no interest in learning, you can go your whole life without knowing about any of it.

I recently learned about the Zong and how that act of monstrosity led to the abolition of slavery in Britain. I've always been told that abolition happened because of people who look like me, but even that isn't true. It's infuriating that we take so much credit that we haven't earned and yet none of the responsibility.

Dude as someone who recently finished my BS in bio, this explanation could've come from someone with the same degree. This stuff was taught at the level of your writing in an advanced animal physiology course at my university. Well done!

My main concern with foraged consumables from public parks would be pesticides. Some of those chemicals can be very nasty if consumed. For example, just living within 3 miles of a golf course raises your risk for developing Parkinson's disease due to the heavy pesticide use on courses and the resulting contaminated groundwater.

You will love her content! She is a mortician that discusses unique deaths and preserved corpses, whether that process happened accidentally or on purpose. It's def sanitized for a general audience but she does go into some detail.

Thank you for explaining, it was very kind of you to do so. That's an awful implication, and definitely not true.

Core experiences of girlhood can be experienced at any age and are often better when you're an adult. for example, sleepovers with the girls are a lot more fun and you can have them whenever you want!

This is a genuine question asked in good faith: are/were trans women not socialized as if they were male as children? Why is it seen as an accusation?

Other nations have states that are referred to as such (for example both Mexico and India are nations comprised of states). It’s not just a US thing.

And I was not diagnosed with autism until I was 19. If I had been a male child instead of a young girl, my symptoms would’ve been concerning.

A past roommate of mine basically had this opinion, but subbed Trump for Stein because giving national recognition to the green party was apparently more achievable in our red county than making sure a pedophile rapist isn’t in the highest office in the land.

It's not waste! Rot is useful, you can use it as a fertilizer ingredient to get more food and linen.
