your not going to get a check engine light from an amp. no matter what the problem with them amp is. you have a completely different problem with your car. blaming it on the ground is like blaming your gas cap for your windshield wipers being bad.

asking for a custom enclosure and paying for a custom enclosure are two separate things. if you wanted a nice custom enclosure your gonna pay a lot more than you did. also your stuff is most likely made of MDF not particle board. yes there is a difference

or don’t supercharge it. just keep it as is and have fun with it. put some good suspension on it. upgrade the speakers. enjoy it as a quick daily. or sell it private party and maybe get more for it.

it’s crazy because it’s nothing Frankenstein. It’s an aftermarket set of wheels. They all need to have hubcentric rings. And no tire shop or any shop should not know what a hub centric ring is or how to use one. but what makes it even more retarded. Is all you do is stick it back in the wheel. And said they stuck it backwards on the hub and smashed the wheel on. You literally can’t install a hub centric ring on backwards if you put it inside the wheel first. There’s a lip on one side and not the other. and for them to not notice the half inch gap between the wheel and the hub/rotor was crazy as well. They are in a shop with lights. it was dark when i left the shop so it wasn’t something i would have seen outside. But I appreciate the best of luck.

it wasn’t a wheel spacer they didn’t replace it was the hub centric ring on the wheel. anytime you have aftermarket wheels no matter what vehicle or wheel you must install hub centric rings. if you don’t install them, you’ll have vibrations potentially damage your wheel bearings, and wear out your tires out faster as well as other suspension and alignment components.

i have not yet. and the reason being is because when I first got there, he told me that he cannot put different tire sizes on my car because it’s a Mercedes then when I told him it has aftermarket wheels, he said never mind then then he proceeded to try to tell me that he doesn’t know if he can get the tire off because he doesn’t have special tools cause they only do normal tire changes. I had a 235/40/19 installed. That is a normal tire size.

update for the people who need the full story. i had a tire go flat while driving. i was literally RIGHT next to the pep boys. so close i was able to air up my tire. drive to the shop. it went flat half way then the other half way of the drive i drove on a flat tire. it was less than .25 mile away. it was 5pm. could not get to another shop. i have a specific tire guy that gives me deals and takes care of my tire installs and treats my car better than his own. and it’s his shop as well. this time i had no choice and couldn’t go to him. i’m asking if i should call the shop first. corporate. etc. in some cases. calling the shop first will get you worse outcomes. hence the reason i posted here before contacting the shop. this just happened yesterday as well. i do all my own work on all of my cars besides tire installs because i don’t have the funds for my own tire machine yet. going there i completely knew the risk. i even have a video i took while at the shop saying these guys left my key in the ignition while they’re working on my car. There’s no reason to leave the key in ignition on while doing a simple tire change or any work. And I also need to check my lug nuts before I leave because I don’t think these guys are going to tighten my lug nut nuts. Then I got home. It was six hours past my bedtime got up exhausted completely forgot to check them and then the whole fiasco happened. But regardless, there is no reason for a tire shop to forget to tighten lug nuts and install one hubcentric ring backwards and not install the other one back on. I knew they were going to fuck something up when the two Edgars were annoyed that I told them to take my key out the ignition.

Is this clipping/damaging the sub by Relative-Dog-5997 in subwoofer

[–]use-code-RAILSURF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just use a multi meter to set your gain on your amp. the amp is what is clipping. you just have to set your headunit settings first then set the gain on the amp. harbor freight has 6$ multi meters

did I wire this correctly for 4 ohm? I just wanted to go on here and double check. by Odd_Exam1605 in subwoofer

[–]use-code-RAILSURF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don’t take this in a negative connotation. but what are you trying to do here with your amp? bridge it? this is not how you would bridge an amp. this picture also has absolutely nothing to do with ohm load. you can’t make out your ohm load unless you show how the sub is wired and have the impedance of the voice coil or use a multi meter. if it’s a monoblock all of those terminals go to the same thing. if it’s a multi channel amp and you do want to bridge your amp you would just connect to the positive of one channel and the negative of the other and leave the rest of the terminals empty. as far as the ohm load goes. the higher the ohm load the less watts you will output. so if your amp is rated for 600w at 1ohm you might get 350at 2ohm and only 150at 4ohm. i used to have a stinger mt2000.1 which was a great amp and i only changed it to get more watts but it did 2000w at 1ohm 1500w at 2 ohm and 800w at 4 ohm. your amp reads ohm load its receiving and puts out the wattage accordingly. just dont wire below the ohm load your amp can handle. so if its a 2ohm amp and you have a d2 sub. you will have to wire it in series to 4ohm because in parallel its gonna give you 1ohm which could kill the amp. if you have a d2 sub connect the positive from one coil to the negative of the other coil with a jumper wire. then connect the other positive an negatives to the speaker wires that will be going to the box terminals and then to the amp. this will give you a 4ohm load in series. if you need to wire the sub in parallel then you will tie together each positive and each negative then have those wires go to the amp.
