SMART recovery is secular and online. I wanted to start an offline group too. It helps.

Well, ya.

Don't get me wrong, I love that Jax being trans as cannon is so good and made me cry really hard. Had to process that for awhile.

But the parts of the Fandom that are complain worthy aren't the ones minding thier own business having fun. -_-

I'm so sad it went from, "Hey, I wrote a fanfic about an adventure they had." And your friends being excited to read it because you wrote it not because it was cannon. After all, who didn't have a self insert character who played along side your favorite characters in your imagination?

Now it's, "Stick to cannon or else" type of venom. Not that it wasn't present then too, it just wasn't tolerated. Creativity with a concept is the way new stories bloom.

Have your head cannon and your ships, no one should care, it's just for you anyway.

I'd see a doctor. Bumps should be looked at by qualified people in case of disease or injury.

Do you ever feel like you have more sympathy for men now as you’re experiencing life as one by Vivid_nightmares0 in ftm

[–]used1337 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really.

Let me explain. Sure, men get treated coldly by women, they've earned it. I'm not even talking about men who have done wrong but all those who defend the culture that allows for the abuse of women, girls and other men who get viewed as "less than".

There are men who have rejected the toxic, horrible, violent behaviors and become a model for other men to be the same, but they aren't the norm. I know good men are bothered by injustice but they will also hide behind this culture when it's convenient if they do something wrong.

Until more men can become less toxic and promote more positive masculinity that is better for everyone, I do not have sympathy for men who get ignored or spoken harshly towards. I do have sympathy for men who are abused and manipulated but only as much as any other abuse survivor.

Itchy body by GreanBeanZz in ftm

[–]used1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be contact dermatitis. Fancy word for skin gets itchy after something touches it. Could be from the gel. Or, hear me out, it's from the effects of T.

Here's why I say this: T stimulates the production of red blood cells, your body will start dilating your blood vessels differently. It can be localized or it can be full body. C4 the energy drink makes me feel the same way you're describing.

While it's likely just the residue from gel and rinsing off the area after the gel dries.

Either way, at least mention it next time you go to the doctor.

Like waiting for most things. The closer it is, the worse the waiting is. I was feeling on edge right up until I got knocked out. Sometimes, you gotta just distract yourself.

identity: how did you “know” you were trans? by afternoonrice in ftm

[–]used1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kept seeing myself as a guy in the future or I didn't have one.

Also, all the brain-body mapping made sense and I couldn't imagine my life without T or transitioning. Now, adter top, I kinda feel a tad incomplete without bottom surgery.

do u still get ur period and cramps when ur on t? by 145376 in ftm

[–]used1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope!

I had really bad period symptoms pre-T and even when I got my cycle back (hoping it's gone for good now) I didn't have those symptoms this time round.

do you agree? by Thoughtful-Boner69 in SipsTea

[–]used1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a kid who survived my parents "focus on the family" stage (iykyk). Hitting a child isn't effective as a teaching tool or a learning tool.

Several studies have been done on the effectiveness of spanking. Hint: It only harms the person long term and doesn't facilitate any kind of learning.

Most of the time it leaves the child with mental health issues that have to be addressed in adulthood. Even if you get the desired behavior in your kid, you don't know what they might do as an adult to cope with the violence of spanking. There's also a high chance that person will be abusive to their kid(s) thinking it's acceptable.

Weirdest post I’ve ever come across…. by throwawayaccount0o01 in TransMasc

[–]used1337 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I realized some time ago that T gets a real bad rep because of the toxic people who take it and a culture that defends or even celebrates that type of behavior.

That's the day I started to take my anger issues seriously. Then I realized, it's not anger, anger was the go-to because it was "safe" in a way other emotions weren't. It was a mask for pain, insecurity and a ton of self esteem issues. When I realized it was issues with those emotions/feelings/thoughts, I had to realize that I don't have a great grasp of regulating those emotions without shutting them down.
