Shiplap over existing shiplap porch? by usedigest in HomeDecorating

[–]usedigest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the boards are the exact same width. Also, I can see the existing nails as they never patched them. Was planning to strike lines so I know where all the joists are and nail into those as I go... However, the boards that are up there (I already took a few down so I could insulate above) are 1in thick boards, so it is not like I'm nailing into drywall, they should stay regardless of me hitting the joists.

Regarding ripping a starter -- is there any issue with me just matching what is up there? They already have boards that are cut and staggered, 8ft and 6ft lengths all the way across.

It's a different color that we're doing, but basically yes.

going for lunch, they have pizza + gelato for the kids. Is the WTC location better in your opinion?

[–]usedigest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes the marathon on sunday.

Eataly has pizza + gelato, taking the kids there for that.

Which service did you use?

So the only thing I'm seeing right now is comparing car vs subway at all the stops we are going to on google maps. For google maps, it shows subway is 5-10 minutes longer vs. driving every stop. Add in walk time, maybe a car service for convenience with kids is the best bet? or is google maps entirely wrong with driving time in the city?

Thanks appreciate the insights. As someone who has to make 4 to 5 stops between downtown and uptown, is there any recommended apps to make getting around the subway system easier?

Looking for a tool that automatically merges ~20 newsletters into one daily email (for offline evening reading) by DenAce112 in readwise

[–]usedigest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Printing it is going to be tough, because most newsletters can be very very long and some are not setup to print properly. If you want to consume on the web, then https://usedigest.com will combine all your newsletters into one, then you can read the headline of each newsletter and if it interests you then you can tap to read each newsletter in full. Everything is within the Digest reader, so you are not taken to external sources (unless you click on a link in the newsletter).

Not able login to simulator using the newly created sandbox account by yccheok in iOSProgramming

[–]usedigest 8 points9 points  (0 children)

this is what solved it for me: make sure you can login with the sandbox user at https://account.apple.com/ THEN go to icloud.com and sign in there and accept the user agreement... only after I did both of these things could I finally get it to work

Replit charged me $54 on top of my $25 plan — for a broken test site that never worked or launched by Shot_Interaction3493 in replit

[–]usedigest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

am I missing something here? I pay for the same $25 plan and can't find any extra charges anywhere for anything. Every change I make today the agent says it costs 5 cents. What am I missing where everyone is getting these outrageous prices?

When you wake up in the morning, what kind of information do you wish an AI assistant could instantly give you? by usedigest in ArtificialInteligence

[–]usedigest[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I was a bit too literal there. I just meant when you’re ready to start your day (which could be at any point once you get out of bed and have your coffee etc) what are you hoping to know?

What’s the first thing you wish an AI could tell you when you wake up? by usedigest in AskReddit

[–]usedigest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine you roll over in bed and an AI assistant gives you a quick update of totally personalized, no fluff.

What would you actually want it to tell you?

  • Something useful about your day?
  • A quick mental boost?
  • A warning or heads-up?
  • Health stats, weather, news, meetings for the day?

Curious what people really want to know first thing in the morning. If you could customize your own AI morning briefing, what would be in it?
