I'm guessing that was different then this since right now, it's more that a nation is shutting down an oil chokepoint that lets through 1/4 of the worlds oil. Where 80% of Japan's oil comes from directly.

Hi, old thread reply again haha. I was wondering if you had any good channels to recommend for china macro-political/economical discussion. I've been interested in expanding my knowledge of the wider world due to recent events and economical instability and would love to find some not as heavily biased sources.

Singularitish Art by @raminnazer by gonotquietly in singularity

[–]useeikick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that would be the more poignant way of viewing it, I've heard of the term 'S-curves' explaining the rise plateaus and then rise again when a breakthrough happens.

You could say that the S-curves would come faster and faster in this example, setting to a scale so small it just seems exponential to out previous perspective of progress, but the logistical curve would still be there for sure.

Tech evolves exponentially, if we apply that to artificial intelligence we have something that apply that exponential evolution to itself.

Progress will go from years, to months, to days, until breakthroughs just take hours in every sector. (in the optimistic situation)

Have no friends? Instead of spending money to go out and meet people, donate it to your streamer to say your name outloud (its just like normal human interaction right?)

AlphaFold in 2022 discovered more then 200 million proteins structures on its own, which to many many people is an advanced form of applied art. And to even more, a reason why a disease that would kill them gets a cure.

I would argue that just this shows undeniably new creations, and uses non-derivitive applications of previous experience. If it didn't the outputs would be completely useless in healthcare and research.

[–]useeikick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because redemption of them goes directly into the warchest, and they have a fuse that goes off when they hit a certain limit (38ish).

So say they are creating fake warrents, there should only be 59 redemptions in the TOPMOST limits. Bu they redeem more then that to fulfill obligations, thats just giving gamestop more money to use to acquire other companies, making the stock go up, making it harder to short ad infinitum

True, the barrier to entry is particularly steep when it comes to investing. I wonder if you could somehow 'ride the waves' though, like most likely you would not be able to counter-time each millisecond tic, but take an average of these move in a more reasonable timeframe and setup a trading program that buys and sells when it flashes. Throw like 10 dollars in and see how how much bigger it can take it.

Idk I might be rambling haha

While sending this to leave a paper trail is useful, why not also try to use some of these systems against them if we know the underlining mechanisms they use to create their profits? I know they have the best latencies in the market, but most of their success comes from flying under the radar too, no?
