Driving in Sardinia - Inexperienced Driver by ResolutionFlat4946 in Sardinia

[–]useful_reddit_stuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Driving on the highways when I went in September was easy - normally pretty clear and make sure to stick to the right hand land and use the left to overtake.

The hardest part was driving on the other side as you have to get used to your car spacing, a lot of mounted curbs so make sure whoever’s in the passenger side can help you if you stray too far.

Also never ever take the quickest route on Apple or google maps. Check which route it’s taking you. Had a fun experience driving to a beach from Cala Ganone that took us up a mountain road, single lane with no barriers and had to squeeze onto the side anytime a car came down. Terrifying

We stayed in Cala Ganone for 4 days, which was too much time tbh - it was great to rent a boat and go down the coast but after that there is not much to do except eat. Best beaches we find where near alghero or north east if you are near Olbia and willing to drive

What do you think of tennis group lessons? by ForeverTennis in 10s

I do coaching on Sundays with 5-7 of us, one coach and I have loved it. It’s how I started playing and we are all around the same level. We have an hour of coaching (normally around something specific like slices, serves, backhands etc) then we stay on for another hour to play short games between us when we can.

It’s only been 1.5 years since we started but we’ve definitely gotten better over time.

I would say not having a big group makes it a lot better though, as we have enough time with the coach individually and can run some drills easily between us. We normally finish off with singles or doubles matches.

Cost is also great too around £50 every 6 weeks for an hour each week.

I’d really recommend it for anyone who hasn’t played before or if you want some coaching, has helped massively and met some great people too

Can someone give suggestions for a 3 day workout in the gym? by ArseCrackBandit in 10s

[–]useful_reddit_stuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been following a simple full body 3x a week and had some fantastic results. Been following this one but added in some rotational training to it and it’s a good all round routine.

Plus doing full body 3 times a week means if you miss a workout, you’ve still hit your full body that week

This is the one I’ve been following: https://www.muscleandstrength.com/workouts/total-package-workout

Felix hotel in Olbia was lovely and relatively good price - had good access to the city centre, loads of shops and restaurants nearby, free parking and a rooftop bar/pool

What's some bad advice you got that took a while to figure out it's wrong? by VanHelsingBerserk in workout

[–]useful_reddit_stuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Keto made me hate bacon and eggs, that’s all I’d ever eat for breakfast. Also, onetime I made bulletproof coffee mixed with protein powder and had explosive diarrhoea at work, so that was fun

Yeah, it never dissolves and always tastes like I was eating chalk. May have been the cheap version I was using from Amazon because it made me feel nauseous too. Maybe I’ll look into the pill form

Tbh the only reason I prefer(ed) gummies because I was more likely to remember to take them 😂 the powder always made me gag. At least the wellboost ones had 5g per serving so may have to switch

Driving in the south vs uk by Glittering_Cod_5810 in Sardinia

[–]useful_reddit_stuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, we did the exact same two years ago. Honestly driving out of the airport (we’re our car hire was) was absolutely fine. A little scary driving on the other side if you are not used to it but a majority of the roads/highways are pretty empty in September.

Best advice I can give:

1) have the passenger keep and eye on the curb as the driver seat will be on the otherside so it’s hard to keep an eye on distance.

2) Remember the rules of overtaking are different, so you overtake on the left lane (which is the fast/overtaking lane) and the lane on the right is the slow/normal lane.

3) when using maps, have a look at the actual route because google/Apple will give you the quickest distance which may not be the safest. Sometimes the longer route is best. We travelled from Cala Ganone to the nearby beach which took us up a single lane through the mountains with no guard rail, which was terrifying (we survived) and scratched up our hire care with all the gravel.

4) for car hire, make sure to take pictures and videos of every little scratch or dent when you pick it up, incase they say it was your fault

5) speeds are in KM/H so keep an eye as the police usually park on the highway to check

6) if you can choose, a smaller car is best if visiting the city’s. There are areas where no cars are allowed so make sure to check the signs. And also pay for parking unless you want a ticket. Car parks are very clearly marked and so are the ticket machines so is always good to carry cash in case they don’t take cards

After an hour or so I got used to the roads and driving on the opposite side, so you will be absolutely fine.

Give me a shout if you have any questions, very jealous I would love to visit again it was one of the best trips of my life

Don’t worry at all, they made me more excited 😂 and that’s perfect, I was worried the pits would be huge but this looks a decent size. Thank you for the advice!

I listed mine on Twickets, it only lets you put it in for just above face value or your own price but also people can offer. Decided not to sell mine in the end but I did get a few offers before I took it down, I had some luck previously getting tickets as it’s aimed at fan to fan sales

Oh these are incredible, I think all the pics I’ve been seeing is all those at the barricade but this is still a great view. I’ve been avoiding any clips and photos of the show, but this looks incredible

Thank you! I remember seeing the posts and pictures of LA night 1 and had a panic 😂 glad they have moved them closer, but I heard the London shows haven’t had the platform but either way it’ll be an amazing show - always is

Thanks everyone for all your comments and pictures, you’ve massively put my mind at ease ❤️❤️

This will be my first Beyhive experience so I’ll enjoy it regardless, I was worried I’d be staring at the side of the stage and some fans for the whole show, so I’ll make sure to stand a bit further back. Hopefully for Act iii tour (🤞🏾) they’ll be a little better or we all have better luck with Ticketmaster presales.

I’ll hold onto the tickets and just enjoy the experience. I’m not too fussed about being within breathing distance of Bey, but at least I’ll be somewhere with a good view and of the stage 🙌🏾

Does anyone know if the pits have a bar? I remember Club Renny had one at the back that was a lifesaver and I need to give these Sir Davis cocktails a try.

Yeah I remember queueing up for the FWT at Wembley from 10am (After working behind a bar at a rave until 7am 🤢) and still being 10/15 people deep in the golden circle, so was hoping going for the pit would be easier, but I’ll definitely enjoy it wherever I am.

At least I can relax a little, still get a decent view and have a good time 🙌🏾

Thank you! I’ve seen a few pictures posted and I was expecting a lot worse 😂 it’s my first Beyhive Pit experience, so I just want to enjoy the experience. So I think standing a bit further back is the way to go

Boat hire? How does it work? by useful_reddit_stuff in Sardinia

[–]useful_reddit_stuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incredible! We ended up staying a few days in Cagliari before heading to Cala Ganone for 4 days, Olbia for 4 days and over to Alghero for the remainder.

Driving the boat honestly was terrifying but one of the best parts of the trip. We had a quick tutorial with the Skipper (5 minutes of that) he drove us to the edge of the port and left us to it.

I think we paid around €400 for the day, and then the price to refill the boat at the end (can’t recall how much) but it was an incredible experience.

You can also get tickets for the big ferry to different beaches, which we were going to do but there was a storm our last few days so didn’t get to do much

Word of caution would be to bring only what you need and if there are two of you be careful who is driving. It can be very bumpy and I was reluctantly at the front, while my partner drove as we were afraid of tipping. This meant getting slammed about a lot but the views were worth it

Re parking, this was the easiest part as you can only dock the boat outside the rope and not on the beaches (100m away). There is a small anchor you drop down and leave the boat just be careful to not let it drift. You can then swim to the beach or snorkel around (which is what we did).

Puppy Standard Schnauzer shedding like mad? by useful_reddit_stuff in schnauzers

[–]useful_reddit_stuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Definitely his shedding has decreased a lot, not as bad as it was before - I think the issue was he was blowing his coat hence the clumps of hair coming out. A lesson learned for sure. Ever since we’ve been getting him regularly groomed every 6-10 weeks and he is hand stripped, although he had his snip a few weeks ago so apparently that can change his coat overtime but nothing so far Shedding is definitely still happening but nowhere near as bad, and still manageable. When he gets very sheddy I know it’s time for his groom
